Films to look Forward to in 2017

To say 2016 was one crazy year is an understatement. Luckily, we had pop culture to distract us from all the chaos! In case you’re afraid 2017 may just be as bad (if not worse), here is a friendly reminder of what is hitting the big screen this year!

The Fate of the Furious, April 14

Wonder Woman, June 2

Warner Bros. introduced Gal Gadot as the famous Wonder Woman in Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice. Now, the superhero is hitting the big screen in her own feature film.  Major badass alert!

Spider-Man: Homecoming, July 7

Yes, there are like a million people that have played Spider-Man. This Spider-Man movie follows the young Peter Parker, played by Tom Holland. We were introduced this Marvel hero (again) in the Avengers: Civil War. Now, we get to see the young Spider-Man make some mischief and, of course, take on some bad guys.

Dunkirk, July 21

Christopher Nolan, director of the Dark Knight trilogy, brings a major World War II story to life in this year’s Dunkirk. With a star-studded cast, this is one to see for all you history lovers. Also, does anyone know what highlight 1D cutie, Harry Styles is using?

Star Wars: EP VIII, December

The last bit of 2016 was buzzing with praise for the franchise’s Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, and there’s no denying this year’s buzz will also be Star Wars related.

Daniella Arredondo is a sophmore at UTRGV and persuing a degree in Mass Communications with a focus in broadcast. She hopes to one day transfer to UT Austin and double major in RFT and English. Daniella's ambition in life is to inspire more women to become directors in Hollywood and inspire young girls to dream big and work hard because nothing is impossible if you set your mind to it. 
Victoria De Leon is a senior at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley and is pursuing a bachelor's degree in Marketing. She plans to pursue a career in the fashion industry as a buyer. Fashion has always been something that she loves and is deeply passionate about. One of Victoria's goals in life is to inspire women to dream big and go after those dreams. She wants to be an inspiration to all the women who grew up in a small town that anything you set your mind to is possible.
