It’s the most wonderful time of the year!

Some of you may have read that and thought this was an old article. Nope! Valentine’s Day is my favorite holiday of all time, and for me, this is the most wonderful time of the year. Valentine’s Day just makes me so happy. I know there are a lot of people who would rather just skip this holiday, or as some say, “Let’s have a second Thanksgiving instead!” But hear me out. Just because you aren’t in a romantic relationship doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy February 14th! Here are a few reasons I love Valentine’s Day and you should, too!

The Decorations

You can’t tell me that you don’t get a smile from walking down the aisles to see all the Valentine’s Day stuff at Walmart or the nearest convenience store. Watching the little kids pick out their cards to hand out to their friends at school, or watching a man carry a gigantic bear and flowers through the checkout line just makes me smile!

Memories

I don’t know about you, but when I was in elementary school, we always had a contest to see who could make the best Valentine’s Day box. On top of that, we got to bring in our own Valentine’s cards to hand out to all of our classmates. Sometimes (really, all the time), I wish we could still do this as adults!

Excuse to Dress Up

I love getting to put on a nice dress and getting all dolled up! Whether it’s to go out with your special someone, the girls or even just to look nice for work it will put you in a better mood!

Sweets

As soon as Christmas is over, stores start putting out chocolate and other candies for Valentine’s Day. Who doesn’t love those boxes of chocolates, chocolate covered strawberries or conversation hearts?

Gifts

My absolute favorite part of Valentine’s Day is getting gifts together for my friends. Maybe this is me trying to relive my childhood, but I love seeing their faces when I get them a little box of chocolates or even just a card because they don’t expect it. Everyone just assumes the whole day is about who you are romantically involved with when it can be so much more. Don’t get me wrong, I love getting little gifts for my boyfriend, but I can’t wait to surprise my friends this year!

Happy Valentine’s Day!
