The Best Halloween Attractions Near Martin

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UTM chapter.

I think everyone can agree that Halloween time is one of the best times of the year. Who doesn’t love costume parties, eating your weight in candy and watching scary movies for a whole month? One of the best parts of October is all of the Halloween-themed attractions that open, from haunted houses to pumpkin patches. Here are the best ones that are about an hour from Martin.

Darkness Falls – Trail of Terror: Troy, TN

Darkness Falls is a haunted trail, which means you’re walking through the real woods while monsters are jumping out at you. By combining nighttime, lots of trees and actors in terrifying costumes, Darkness Falls creates a fun experience that is perfect for people who love getting scared.

The 13th Realm: Atwood, TN

The 13th realm is a combination of indoor and outdoor scares as its path takes you through several buildings and the area outside of them while providing extremely frightening sights and characters. A favorite for people in West Tennessee, this place is one of the scariest and most entertaining haunted attractions around.

Jackson Escape Rooms: Jackson, TN

Escape games are the perfect compromise for the kinds of people who like a thrill but don’t want to be chased around by an ax-swinging maniac. In escape games, you are locked in a room with a group of 8-12 people and given only an hour to use clues and teamwork to get out. Most of the rooms have themes that are scary without being overwhelming, which makes them perfect for groups of all ages. The best part is Jackson Escape Rooms are open all year!

Holt Family Farms: Dresden, TN

If you’re looking for something Halloween-themed without all the scares, this farm is perfect. It is filled with family-friendly activities, like a petting zoo and pumpkin patch. If your favorite October activity is simply carving pumpkins for your porch, Holt Family Farms is a great place to go.

Donnell Century Farm Adventure: Jackson, TN

This farm is very similar to Holt Family Farms but on a larger scale. Along with a pumpkin patch, they have hayrides, a mini Halloween corn maze, inflatables and all the barnyard animals you can think of. If you’re looking for a farm with enough activities to keep you busy all day, come here.

Todd Family Fun Farm & Corn Maze: Dyer, TN

Like the two previous farms, Todd Family Fun Farm has all the normal farm activities along with their main attraction, a giant corn maze in the shape of the Coca-Cola logo. The corn maze is the perfect way to pass a few hours this October if you’re burnt out on all of the scary events.

While they’re all fun, these are only the best places within an hour of Martin. If you’re serious about your Halloween attractions, Memphis, Nashville and even Kentucky offer some great places if you’re willing to make the drive. Have fun, and Happy Halloween!
