Living in a world where it is dangerous and not knowing who you may come across is probably the most scariest thing ever. It all started at the age of 15. Victoria fell for a boy who was only just a year older than her. They met through a mutual friend that introduced them together. He seemed like an amazing guy who was nothing but sweet and was very protective of Victoria. Eventually the bond between them both became stronger and stronger and they were an official couple. This made Victoria super happy, probably the most her family has ever seen her be. Although with the fact that she was happy she fell for this boy, her mother was not too fond of the fact that her daughter was in a relationship at all, especially at this age. Victoria lived nothing but happy moments with her boyfriend; when it was time to meet the family he was very respectful, and of course got the talk from the men in her family about making sure he does her right and does not mess up. Lucky enough Victoria’s parents accepted him and so did her family. As months went on they were always on good terms. So far, no red flags or anything of that sort, but that all changed one night. On a Tuesday night Victoria’s phone was blowing up non stop from her boyfriend accusing her of cheating on him. This threw Victoria off because she was so into this kid that she never looked at another guy or tried to find interest in another one. She tried to calm him down over the phone, and that is when she started to see changes in him. Six months pass and there relationship was just going down hill. Nothing was working. He was very verbally abusive, and always threatening to break up with her. This sucked because she would just end up doing everything that pleased him, so that he would not  get so angry. And sadly to say that is when her nightmare came faster than ever.

Around this time Victoria and her boyfriend have been together for a year and a couple of months, and shes been verbally and physically abused. She refuses to open up to her parents and friends about the situation. An incident that occurred was her and her boyfriend were leaving McDonalds and had crossed the street to where there was a sports authority building. They were arguing about the fact that he just did not trust her since she lived 45 minutes away from him and both went to different schools. With that being said Victoria has never showed or made him feel that he should not trust her. She started to think that maybe its been him who has been cheating or doing something he is not supposed to be doing, so he just takes it out on her. As they were arguing, he pulls her to the back of the Sports Authority building to finish the conversation. Sadly that did not end well.  He ended up pushing her so hard against a trailer that she started to bleed from her head and had a huge headache. She then started running off crying and he chased after her. When she got to her grandmas house, luckily no one was awake and she went to the bathroom and cleaned herself up. She noticed that her back and arms were bruised from him grabbing her and the injury from the trailer. She then called him and told him enough is enough. She was done getting hit, she was done with the verbal abuse, and that she is ending the relationship. This of course got her boyfriend very very angry. He flipped out on the phone and said a lot of threatening things.

Later on that night after she was all cleaned up and settled down, her dad told her that he was stepping out and to look out for a knock so that she can open the door for him. With everything that happened with Victoria and her now ex boyfriend she was not sleeping at all that night. She gets a text from a random number saying “ look outside i need to speak with you”. This freaked her out even more and when she did look outside she noticed it was her ex. She told him to leave her alone before she calls the cops and that she did not want to speak to him. Clearly, he did not listen although it looked like he was drunk or high because of how he was presenting himself. After Victoria blew him off, she looked outside again and noticed he was gone which was a relief to her. 1am hit and she hears a knock. She goes to open the door thinking it was her dad and it ended up being her crazy ex at the door. She immediately reacted on him and started pushing him out the door and yelling saying “get out, get out”. He aggressively pushed her to the floor and told her “ your nothing but a worthless piece of shit, you know that; no one is ever gonna love you like I do”. Right there, Victoria broke down but he was not having it. He picked her up and covered her mouth up so she would not speak. All Victoria could do is fight until she could not fight anymore. Then the worst part happens and he pulls down her pants and starts engaging intercourse; which in this case its rape. She wanted nothing to do with this. He kept hitting her and using her body as if she was nothing. He then stopped and left her there on the floor crying and walked out of the house. This moment terrified Victoria. She was so upset with herself to the point where she wanted to commit suicide. She was scared to tell anyone this happened, and ended up keeping it a secret for so many years since it happened. Recently, she opened up her story and told her mother. She was devastated, but she was able to find help for herself.  Now, she shares her story with those who struggle with trying to leave or cope with being in a domestic relationship.

Hi, my name is Vianca. I'm a psychology child life major. I'm very outgoing and love to write.
Meet Bianca, I am currently a Junior at Utica College in Utica, NY.  I am a Criminal Justice major with a concentration in Homeland Security.  Crime investigation has always been something that interests me.  I’m dedicated and passionate and it’s hard for me to quit things. I get that from my father so don’t hold it against me- he was a veteran and police officer for 20 years.   Growing up in a family centered around law enforcement has helped guide me in this direction, and I will forever be grateful.  After graduation I intend to continue on to law school where I can further my education in hopes of becoming a criminal defense lawyer and later on a District Attorney.  An interesting fact about myself is that I found the passion to be a criminal defense lawyer from watching the O.J. Simpson case.  The facts and conspiracy theories evoked a whole new passion behind criminal investigation that I intend to use in my future.  One of my most prominent moments in my writing career was when I wrote for an online magazine and had my most prevalent article hit 1.6k shares.  I believe in treating people with the same kind of respect and manners you would expect in return, and in a way it has helped shaped my expectations in life.   When you first meet me I won’t be the loudest in the room or the center of attention, but I will be intently listening to everything you say, for what you have to say may have a purpose. I believe in purpose. I believe that everyone is here to help you grow into who you are today and who you will be tomorrow.
