As you grow up more and more each day, I cannot help but wish it would slow down! I remember the very first time I held you, you were so small and you had the cutest little scowl on your face. I knew I loved you from the day I found out that you were going to be born, but I did not know how much I truly loved you until I held you.
You have already grown up so much faster than I could have ever imagined. Each time I see you, you seem to have learned another word or mannerism. You are becoming more and more independent, and I am so proud of you, but part of me wishes that you’ll stay little forever. As you get older, I hope you know that as your aunt, I have a few promises to you.
I promise to always be there to talk whenever you need it. I promise to love you unconditionally. I promise to be at all of your important events! If you pursue something that I have never heard of, I promise to look into it and to learn all about it so that you’ll always have someone to talk to about it. I promise to always back you up and to always be in your back corner.
As much as I wish you would stop growing up at least for a little while, I also cannot wait for our days to come! I cannot wait for the day you call to say you want to do something. If you are ever trying to find someone to take you on a girl’s day, you can count on me!
Always remember, if you ever need a hug, a piece of advice, or just someone to listen to you, I promise I will always be here.
