It is getting to the time of year when professors are assigning papers on top of papers, and final exams seem to be creeping around the corner. Studying is something that all of us dread. However, I have compiled a few tips to make studying more interesting.
1. Use Colorful Pens and Highlighters
Not only can the use of different colored pens and highlighters make the pages stand out and feel more whimsical, they can also be an effective study tool. I use colored pens when taking notes to separate different subjects and topics. This makes studying easier when it comes time to take the exam.
2. Study in a Group or with Friends
Studying with a group of friends can make it feel less stressful because you are not the only one that is going to be taking the test. Having a group of people to study with also allows you to ask questions about topics that you may not understand. A topic that you might not know a lot about, another person may know enough to help explain it to you.
3. Grab a Cup of Joe
I know that when I am studying or doing homework, I always feel the need to have a cup of coffee beside me. Having a coffee gives me an extra jolt of energy to complete the task in front of me…and it tastes good!
4. Use Quizlet
When I need to study vocabulary for my classes, I always use the website Quizlet. Quizlet has online flashcards, as well as games that you can play to learn the material. The games not only help you learn the information, but they are fun to play too.
5. Make a Playlist
Having relaxing music, or even your favorite song playing can help make studying more fun. I know that when I need a study break, I’ll play my favorite song or playlist and scroll through social media.
