Times are extremely tough, mentally, politically, academically and sometimes a quick jam session by yourself is proven to improve your well-being! It can stimulate your mind and relieve stress or depression symptoms, bring out your feel-good hormones such as dopamine and oxytocin, and help you with unprocessed emotions! Here is your Grammy (Car) performance line up through the decades:

The 60s:

#1 “Wouldn’t It Be Nice” – The Beach Boys (1966)

#2 “Build Me Up Buttercup” – The Foundations (1967)

#3 “Brown Eyed Girl” – Van Morrison (1967)

It may or may not be biased that I have brown eyes but this is just a straight-up classic.

The 70s

#4 “September” – Earth, Wind & Fire (1978)

If you don’t sing this like every month is September, you are doing it wrong.

#5 “Dancing Queen” – Abba (1976)

Mamma Mia fan or not, this song gives you such a confidence boost!

#6 “American Pie”- Don McLean (1972)

The 80s

The 80s must have been a time to thrive because my favorite bops come from this era.

#7 “Eye of the Tiger” – Survivor (1982)

This song leaves you ready for a WWE match!!

#8 “I Wanna Dance With Somebody” – Whitney Houston (1987)

*the feels*

#9 “Down Under” – Men at Work (1981)

#10 “Livin’ on a Prayer” – Bon Jovi (1986)

My mom might kill me if I didn’t put this one on here.

The 90s

#11 “Wannabe” – Spice Girls (1996)

This is every girl’s anthem, we all know the words.

#12 “No Scrubs” – TLC (1999)

#13 “I Want It That Way” – The Backstreet Boys (1999)

I can never pick between BSB and *NSYNC!

The 00s

From Kanye to Lady Gaga, this was the beginning of the 21st century

 #14 “Hollaback Girl” – Gwen Stefani (2004)

You sing this every time you try to spell Bananas and you know it.

#15 “Down” – Jay Sean (2009)

#16 “Low” – Flo Rida (2009)

This was probably the first song you ever heard in middle school.

The 10s

The prime year for myself and most of those my age reading this right now- we grew up on these bangers!

#17 “Born This Way” – Lady Gaga (2011)

Belt this song to remind yourself how you are perfect just the way you are

#18 “Raise Your Glass” – Pink (2010)

A. solid. anthem.

#19 “We Are Young” – Fun ft Janelle Monae (2012)

#20 “Sucker” – The Jonas Brothers (2019)

I put this here as a reminder that the Jonas Brothers are back together and we all screamed.

Enjoy your new playlist in hopes the 20s will bring just as iconic music as the rest of the decades!

sing your heart out baby!
