Dating during the times of Coronavirus can be difficult. Many of us are forced to be separated from our loved ones because of the pandemic, and a lot of us are struggling with the distance. Being on a video call or the phone with your significant other can bring some normalcy back into your life and can make you feel as if you’re together again. Sometimes these options just aren’t enough, especially for those of us whose love language is quality time. Thanks to Zoom, there are plenty of creative ways to have an incredible date night with our partners, so here are a few to get you started.

1. Movie Night

Zoom makes it easy to connect with your partner and virtually snuggle up to watch some of your favorite shows (just in time for spooky season). Zoom has a feature where you and one other person can share a screen, and with the remote feature (located on the top of the sharer’s screen) you can both have control over the same screen. This allows you to pause, play, scroll, and really do anything. If you don’t love this option, Netflix has a Google Chrome extension called Netflix Party that can allow you and your boo to watch the same movie together! It’s not quite the same as snuggling up on the couch together, but it is a great option for long-distance couples.

2. Have a Meal Together

Nothing brings people together quite like food! Cooking a fun meal together with your partner can be a very fun and cute way to spend time together. You can even go as far as to find the recipe together, go grocery shopping together, cook together, and eat together. It is a great way to simulate an actual dinner date night together and can give you two some much needed time together. If you are not the biggest fan of cooking, you and your partner could also order the same food together and have a fun night sharing a meal. The options are endless and are sure to bring some light to your long-distance/quarantined relationship.

3. Online Game

If you and your significant other are looking for something more interactive to do together during the pandemic, you should try playing an online game! In today’s world, there are hundreds of thousands of games that you can play together and have a grand old time. I recommend games like Among Us (a strategy game of lying and teamwork) and Tabletop Simulator (a platform where you can play board games with your loved ones) because nothing brings you and your partner together quite like accusing each other of killing your teammates.

4. Ask each other questions

Something to remember when you are away from your partner is that this can be a wonderful opportunity to get to know each other on a deeper level. You should take this time to ask questions, get to know everything about them, and fall in love with them. There are thousands of questions that can be found online that you two can ask each other and get to know each other in a deep and meaningful way. It will make your relationship stronger, and it will make your reunions with your loved one that much more meaningful.

I know dating right now can be a bit tricky, but there are so many things we can do to connect to our partners today. If you are one of the many who are socially distance from their favorite person in the world, try these Zoom date night ideas, and be grateful that we are experiencing this pandemic in a time where we can still connect to loved ones. I know it’s hard, but there’s nothing a cute date night can’t fix during one of the best times of the year. Give these date night ideas a chance, and stay strong long-distance lovers.
