You Can Overcome Your Fear of Failure.

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Utah chapter.

Fear is a lock that holds you down. It is your reflection telling you you’re incapable of achieving your goals. It is disappointment and anger having a party in your mind. When something we planned goes wrong we are often left hopeless. Life threw you a curve ball. Now, what? Giving up is not the answer. It is easy to walk away from a lost battle but the war isn’t over! Hopefully these 7 steps can help you to overcome your fear of failure.

  1. Remind yourself why you started

If you can vision it, you can achieve it.

2. Tell yourself you are worth it

You don’t know who you’re fighting for if you can’t see how much you’re worth the fight.

3. Watch motivational videos

Believe it or not, motivation videos help with getting your adrenaline rushing and help you boost your confidence.

4. Change negative habits

There are daily routines that put us in our misery. Recognizing them and deciding they cannot control you is key in stopping fear from controling your life.

5. Break-up with social media

Oh, yes! We need a break. Social media can make you feel ugh. Paying too much attention to what is going on in other people’s worlds takes away from noticing what’s happening within you.

6. Baby steps

It won’t happen overnight. You can’t get to point A to point B without a few pit stops.

7. Change something on the outside

Sometimes doing something that you were too afraid to do before gets you to finally move out of your comfort zone. Change your hair, get a tattoo, wear makeup, or go all natural. It’s up to you but just be bold!

When we fail, we can feel like it is all over. We focus on winning too much that we forget it is okay to make mistakes. You are stronger than you think.
