It’s only the second week of classes and while some may be bummed about the summer coming to a close and the first week of September that came all too quickly, there is one thing all of us are excited for that we can agree on, football season. The amp of this seasons kickoff against Michigan has been the talk around campus, but here are some more reasons of why you should be decking out in red this fall:

As being one of the top teams to watch in the pack 12, Utah has a strong following of fans throughout the state, but nothing compares to the loyalty our student section holds. The Muss is one of the best. An acronym for “Mighty Utah Student Section”,  we have some of the loudest and most passionate fans. As one of the rowdiest college student sections, the Muss is about 6,000 strong at Ute home games. The MUSS’ traditions have been long lasting. From the First Down Chant, the Third Down Jump, the U of U chop, to singing along to words of Utah Man —there isn’t a dull moment and by the end of the game, majority of us won’t have a voice.

While the actual game is what holds all of the glory of why we love Utah football, tailgating prior is not something to underestimate. Tailgating allows you to meet fellow Ute’s and gets us riled up for the game. As a freshman, there is no better way to get to know more people then a little pre-game party!

The University of Utah is one of the prettiest college campus’ in the country but we’re not just talking about the incredible views of the mountains from the stadium here, how about those boys in football pants? Not to mention, all of the cuties on campus we might not have noticed before.

Overall, getting a chance to meet fellow Utes and partake in such a heavily student influenced sporting event is something we can all look forward to as the fall semester continues.I can attest for most that the only way to get us through our rigorous weeks of school is the coming of football game. No matter what our viewpoints are in everyday life, we all come together in unity to support our Utes.

GO UTES!!!
