It’s the end of January in Utah, which means… the Sundance Film Festival is in full swing! The focus of Sundance is the movies, 100%. But with all of the celebrities roaming good ol’ Park City there is bound to be some awesome fashion that we need to talk about. I’ve picked some trends that people were rocking at the 2020 Sundance Film Festival and I am here to break them down for you.

Plaid Sets

Plaid isn’t just for lumberjacks any more kids; it can be chic and definitely fits in with the winter mountain film festival atmosphere.

Taylor Swift

As one of the biggest stars to attend Sundance 2020, Taylor Swift had to show up in something unique that still made sense with the vibe of the festival. Wearing a matching plaid jumpsuit and blazer was a bold move, but would we really expect anything less from our Miss Americana?

Aubrey Plaza

One of the funniest people ever (in my opinion) killed it in the film Black Bear at the festival this year. For the premiere, she wore a stylish plaid shirt and short combo. She paired it with a long sleeve shirt and tights underneath to stay warm in the cold weather. Very trendy, Aubrey, very trendy.

Bold Outerwear

Utah is coooooold. And when you are waiting in line to get into your Sundance movie the low temperatures seem even more extreme than usual. So at a film festival like Sundance, stylish outerwear is a must.

Lena Waithe

We all know that Beyonce recently released her Adidas X Ivy Park collection. Celebrities flaunted the looks on their Instagrams, so at this point, we would recognize the maroon and yellow combo anywhere. Lena Waithe wore a bold jacket from the collection to the premiere of a movie she stars in, Bad Hair. This street style outfit is fitting for the festival and is very very cool.

Kerry Washington

I. Love. This. Jacket. (And Kerry Washington). The jacket itself is a statement. But the way she styled it takes it to the next level. The white boots?! I mean come on. She’s is truly killing it.

Leather Looks

Julia Garner

This red look is iconic. And with Valentine’s Day coming up I challenge someone to pleassse re-create this outfit! Julia Garner is a breakout star this year at Sundance captivating movie-goers in The Assistant a movie about the #MeToo movement.

Riley Keough

Keough, an actress from the movie Zola stunned in this matching leather skirt and jacket. The color blocking in this leather look is what really makes it stand out to me. It looks EXPENSIVE, probably because it is.

Boys in beanies

I love a boy in a beanie. It’s as simple as that. There were lots of men rocking awesome looks at Sundance this year, but for the most part, they kept it simple and classic with the cute tiny winter hat.

Joe Keery

Look who showed up to Sundance! Everyone’s #1 Stranger Things crush, Joe Keery! I love Joe and think he looked great at the premiere of his movie Spree. I know a boy wearing a beanie is not a revolutionary fashion statement, but we have to admit… deep down… we all love it.

Christopher Abbot

Another beanie alert! Abbot is one of the stars of Black Bear and wore a casual/neutral look to the premiere. He is really talented and is definitely someone to look out for.

Sundance weekend one was a success! It was full of meaningful movies, exciting events, and stylish celebs. Keep a lookout for the rest of our Sundance content coming your way this week.
