Two rockin’ artists, Hayden Warzek & Drew Daniels, come together to form Pulse Regime. Keep reading if you want to learn more about their beats!
Her Campus: How did Pulse Regime come about?
Hayden Warzek: Drew and I started this project around five months ago in June, and that is when I started learning more about electronic music and different workings with that, and Drew is an exceptional DJ so we have two different skill sets that we combine into one entity. It is really cool how we can learn from each other, so going forward, we came out with three EP’s; we did a remix for a higher tier trance artist, and ever since then we have been playing a few shows downtown. We have played at Hotel Elevate, Sky, and other venues.
Her Campus: What has been your favorite gig with each other?
Hayden Warzek: Sky Lounge.
Drew Daniels: We have only played at clubs so far, but we are trying to play for more festivals because we usually only play for smaller crowds, but with festivals you get to play with what the crowd wants instead of playing a set-list of songs. Our friends, however, are super supportive of us.
HW: Yeah, at this last show we played, we had a set from 9:30-11:30pm, and we were opening up for this group from L.A. called, We Are Trio, and we were told that sometimes Saturdays could be a “hit or miss”, and we were blessed that our friends were there and they were just dancing the whole time, and towards the end of the show, the place was packed! So that was a real fun experience.
Her Campus: What is your dream artist to open for?
Hayden & Drew: Gareth Emery & Armin
Her Campus: What pushed you to create electronic music?
Hayden Warzek: This type of music has definitely worked its way well into the mainstream and that is why I personally look back at the original innovators who kind of built the game from the ground up and I still think they are the ones who still run the show and they are still the ones who are coming up with the new material that people still look up to.
Drew Daniels: They are also not responding to what the market wants. They’re still making the music that they want to make.
HW: And my personal idea is that if you are doing something currently that the market is not accepting or if it is just not ready, it is always important to have the public catch up to you rather than you having to catch up to what is already out there because if you are trying to put something out that’s already out there, it is too late.
Her Campus: How has being part of the electronic music scene helped you?
Hayden Warzek: Being apart of this campus, especially, with this many friends and support gets students excited about local music; it is definitely refreshing. How you get someone big in the industry is simply by local, homegrown support and just coming to see us by looking at our stuff, giving us a quick listen, that really just makes a huge difference. It is relatively easy to get somebody on the fast track to success.
Her Campus: Any upcoming shows to announce to the readers?
Hayden Warzek: We are doing a show at the Hotel Elevate on October 21st.
Drew Daniels: We are also doing a show for Club Lotus on November 4th at the Sky Lounge.
