Yes, music festival season is finally upon us after months of anticipation. Even if you’ve had your outfit planned out for weeks, here are a couple of things you should add to your packing list before heading out on your next musical adventure.

  1. Fanny Pack or Cross Body Bag:

Straight up: no one likes holding things, no one likes worrying about losing things…especially when you’re squished into a huge crowd in close to unbearable heat. A fanny pack or cross shoulder bag is not only practical, but a cute addition to your outfit.

2. Glitter & Flash Tattoos

Time to put all those festival blinding glitter highlights and glitter-root Pins you’ve been saving on Pinterest to use. Everybody loves a good excuse to wear a little glitter.

3. Disposables & Polaroids

Lugging around your camera all day is not only annoying, but a little risky. Minimize the risk by picking up some disposables or a polaroid to slip into your bag so you’ll have photographic evidence of all the fun you had for years to come!

4. Dry Shampoo, Baby Wipes (work as makeup remover and maybe a quick shower), Face Blotting Wipes, Hand sanitizers

The above items will make sure feel a little cleaner, you’re a little less greasy, sweaty, and completely Instagram ready.

5. Portable Charger

Can you think of something scarier than getting lost in a dessert surrounded by drunk strangers in cultural appropriating attire? Make sure your phones charged and ready in case you get separated from your friends, an emergency occurs, or you stumble across a prime photo op or even a legendary snapchat opportunity.

6. Baseball Cap, Sunscreen, Sunglasses, Aloe Vera, and an Emergency Kit stocked especially with Band-Aids and Advil.

There’s a pretty good chance you’re gonna get sunburned at some point, and run into a headache or two, whether that’s from drinking or the blaring music surrounding you all day. Also, blisters? No thank you.

7. Refillable Water Bottle

If you’re going to take anything from this post, remember to STAY HYDRATED. This can make or break your experience. A lot of music festivals will make you empty out a water bottle before entry, but most likely will have a water bottle filling station inside. If you’re going to drink alcohol, try the “one drink, one water” rule.  Also, do your best to avoid the sugary foods sold at the festival to further dehydrate you throughout the day!

Stay safe, have fun, and may you get the perfect Instagram photo.
