Local SLC Businesses To Support During Quarantine

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Utah chapter.

We all are guilty of online shopping during the stay home order, because frankly, what else is there to do? I have found myself browsing clothing sites with big brand names, but what we should all be considering is the small businesses that make our state flourish. Whether you are in the mood for a new wardrobe, a birthday gift, or food I have complied a list of local SLC businesses that serve as a great alternative to big brand names. Lets support the businesses that make our community unique, especially now when they need us the most.

Clothing

Koo de ker

Want to amp up your wardrobe? Local Business Koo de ker sells unique clothing that will energize your style, and even better, it is female owned! Check out their Instagram here for a sneak peak at their collection and for some fun quarantine recepies to try with your family. (This awesome local business offers online shopping and curbside pickup!)

Mentionables

This local utah company has been one of my favorites for so long now. Made for women by women, Mentionables sells super cute lingerie, which makes for great loungewear during your time at home. Additionally, their website is model-less, which allows you to imagine the lingerie on your body which is to die for. Check out their instagram here for a look at their most recent collection! (This awesome local business offers online shopping, so you can ship straight to your house!)

Dancing Cranes Imports

This fun store has a bunch of unique gift ideas that might just spark a new hobby. Check out thier Instagram here for a look at what they have to offer. (This aweome local business offers online shopping, and free shipping on orders over 40 dollars!)

Food

Pig & A Jelly Jar

For many, this local restaurant is one that we have all come to know and love, and they are offering delivery via Uber Eats! They also have the option to donate a meal on their website, which is a great way to support a local business while feeding workers and families that need it most. Order now via Uber Eats or though their website here

Pretty Bird Chicken

In the mood for a bomb chicken sandwhich? You’re in luck, Pretty Bird Chicken is open for online orders and pickup! Check out their instagram for some food pictures that might make you drool here

While these are oviously not all of the options, they are some of my favorites. I want to encourage all of you to share your favorite Salt Lake City businesses with your friends and family, and to support them whenever possible during this trying time. Shop local, stay home, spread positivity.
