Spring Break is a time for partying, letting loose, and ignoring the fact that you totally failed at least 2 of you midterms. Here are some tips that will help you get through such a crazy time!

Hydrate

Water and Gatorade are your new bff’s for spring break. You should be drinking a glass of water for every alcoholic beverage you consume. Additionally, if you’re spending a lot of time in the sun then you should be drinking even more water since your body dehydrates more quickly in warmer temperatures.

Apply Sunscreen

Looking like a lobster is not cute. You can still get tan by using SPF 30 and reapplying every two hours to avoid getting sunburnt. If you are anti-sunscreen, then please at least use sunscreen on your face so that when you start peeling you won’t be shedding like a snake all over your face when you get back from spring break.

Feed Your Body

Surprisingly, alcohol does not give your body all the nutrients it needs to properly function! Who knew? Try to treat yourself by actually taking care of yourself through munching on fruits and veggies and even splurge a little with some yummy carbs. (Carbs are good for you too!)

Exercise

Going to a beach? Go for a morning jog! Staying in a hotel? Use their gym! Even a thirty-minute workout can be beneficial when you’re on vacation. Plus, you’ll get those endorphins pumping.

Try to Sleep

You should be aiming for 6-8 hours of sleep per night. Realistically, you will be getting around 5-6 hours of sleep while on spring break. However, you can get better sleep during those few hours by bringing earplugs and a sleep mask.

Don’t Mix Alcohols

If you don’t follow any of the above guidelines for a more enjoyable spring break then please follow this suggestion. I promise you’ll be thanking me later when everyone else has a hangover and you’re the only one who is ready to go for round two!

Avoid Drama Like the Plague

A large amount of young adults vacationing with basically no rules (well, except for the law) is bound to bring about some sort of drama…especially when alcohol is involved. If something arises and it doesn’t involve you, then get out of there as fast as you can. Go check out the restaurant down the street, go shopping, or go people watch on the boardwalk. There are plenty of things for you to do other than waste your time caught up in other people’s silly drama.

Relax

Relaxation is different for everyone. Maybe your form of relaxation is daydreaming about the hunks on the beach. Maybe you’ve been dying to read a book you heard about. Maybe you just need time to laugh with your friends while you’re tanning. Whatever it is that makes you happy, make sure you do it. You only get so many spring breaks!
