As we’ve progressed through the past month, you’ve probably felt an aching void due to the lack of a fashion forecast article for February. The only excuse I can offer are that I fell behind at the start of the semester (2019 is off to a great start) and also, I’m poor AF and clothes have not been on the top of my shopping list (pho and takeout is a different story). BUT, after scraping together some coins and hitting the thrift store, your monthly fashion forecast is back and better than ever for the month of March. As much as I’d love to write about cute floral outfit sets for spring break, we all know that March weather in Utah is… less than ideal. Warmer than usual, yes, but still chilly enough that snow boots are part of my daily ensemble. In the spirit of being realistic, the fashion forecast for March is made up of pieces that will still keep you warm in the chilly spring weather.

Boyfriend Jeans

I’ll be completely honest and say that I thought you’d have to pry my skinny jeans out of my cold, dead hands before I’d get on board with wearing boyfriend jeans. As it turns out, they’re actually the comfiest pair of pants I own and can look super chic when styled correctly! The most important (and often the most challenging) part of shopping for boyfriend jeans is finding ones that fit just right. They should be loose in the thighs and calves without being baggy and still manage to fit relatively snugly in the waist. They’re the perfect pair of pants for transitioning from your winter wardrobe to your spring/summer wardrobe since they pair perfectly with a tucked in sweater and boots or a camisole and sandals.

Gold Jewelry

You’re probably thinking that I’m completely oblivious to the fact that gold jewelry is worn all the time and it will never go out of style. I assure you, I am not oblivious. When I say gold jewelry, I mean ALL of the gold jewelry you own. Necklaces, bracelets, rings, earrings, watches, the more the merrier. I lean more on the simple side when it comes to jewelry, so I decided to stick with a variety of understated pieces that complement each other: a simple gold pendant, gold hoop earrings, and a small gold ball stud for my cartilage piercing. The end result is cohesive and refined without being overdone.

Long Duster Cardigans

These are surprisingly fun to wear because they’re pretty much cozy blanket capes that flow behind you as you walk. I love pairing these over a simple shirt or light sweater to layer my outfit and add some length. They’re so easy to throw on over the top of your outfit for chillier spring afternoons and can totally be taken off once the temps start to rise.

That’s a wrap on the fashion forecast for March! The next time you’re reading one of my articles and looking at all the pictures I take for vanity photo references, I’ll have a new and improved hair color. In the meantime, please be kind to me and anyone else suffering from a bad case of root growth while you’re out shopping for the latest trends. Until next time!
