Fall for These Favorite Fall Fashion Picks of 2023

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Utah chapter.

Another Autumn, another overabundance of sweaters from my latest Fall shopping spree. There’s a lot of Fall trends for these colder months, so it may get you wondering: where do I begin?

I decided that this year, I’d stick with some Fall classics, while accessorizing them with what’s in style currently this year. When I say accessorize, I don’t just mean jewelry. What I really mean is all the little things that pull an outfit together. The right boots, the right high fashion socks (yup, high fashion socks, it’s a thing!), the right lounge wear and lingerie… for over and under your Fall classics.

It’s all in the little things, and these little things tend to make a big difference in your Fall and Holiday style. So, without further ado, here are a few of my newly discovered, favorite Fall pieces to add to your wardrobe.

Combat Boots, Slides, Socks & Sandals – and Slingbacks!

You may have heard slingback sandals are a huge Fall trend currently, and they are indeed! But what’s so important is that you pair these babies with a frilly or cozy sock to make them casual and stylish for Autumn.

Looking for an easy and affordable slingback? Famous Footwear currently has the Women’s Sylvia Wide Slingback Pumpfrom the Journee Collection – on sale for 40% off! I’d go with a Black, Grey, or Pink color and a frilly sock. But honestly, any color can be worn in the Fall with the right pairings.

But my all-time favorite Fall combo is a Fall knit dress, with a godly Dr. Martens boot. Boots tend to go with everything it seems! So easy and effortless, I’d go with the Dr. Martens Zavala Combat Boot. Once again, an array of stylish color combos, but black is a classic!

Pair these with some socks and your slides are instantly Fall-ified!

And now for one of my favorite Fall go-tos: slides with socks. Yes, there may be varying views and fashion controversies surrounding the whole ‘socks with sandals’ fashion statement. But you’ll never know how much you love it until you try it! They’re just straight-up cozy! Plain and simple.

For a great slide and sock combo, I recommend Blowfish Malibu’s Darcy Slide – especially in their solid black color. These are great slides to wear when you need to quickly go out, or step outside – while remaining stylish. Pair them with a knit sock, a knit maxi dress, and you’re good to go!

And, if you really wanna try the socks and sandals deal, I recommend throwing on a pair of socks with your favorite pair of Teva’s. Yes, it’s a thing! I simply think it’s cozy, and easy. And with the right color combo, you got a cute, unique look going on! I recommend the Women’s Hurricane 4 Sandal with a solid black sock for when you want to choose comfort and style. You never know until you try!

And… the Socks! High Fashion! Socks!

Before you go wearing your combat boots and slides with those worn-out socks in your closet, you might want to check out High Heel Jungle. I say this because this is one of my favorite new brands – each page of styles grows increasingly beautiful with each scroll. Created by designer Kathryn Eisman – “who has been at the pinnacle of fashion for almost two decades” – the brand is known for their quality, high fashion socks. And they’re simply stunning!

Instantly enhance your style with any of their socks or tights. I highly recommend the Ring a Rosie socks for how versatile they are. Stunning white roses, with detailed petals, sit around your ankle. This sock pairs perfectly with those Dr. Martens and combat boots. The rose detailing sits atop the boot seamlessly. You could also pair these stunners with Mary Janes, slingbacks, loafers or classic heels.

As Kathryn Eisman explains to me, her high end socks are: “a way to inject style and individuality into your look with a single item.” And it’s such an easy way to as well. Simply grab a pair and add to any shoe for a stylish look – with minimal effort!

If you need some designer tights to pair with your holiday party dresses, then I recommend their Nevermore Tights. These babies are gorgeous! Probably the most beautiful pair of tights I own. And they go so well with any dress and nearly any shoe! I’ve seen them paired with sneakers and a floral dress – muah! Lovely!

They’re currently sold out on their site, but their team of Artisans are currently crafting more so stay tuned! Currently, Free People has some in stock! Or, you could simply lose yourself in wonder as you scroll through High Heel Jungle’s selection of high fashion tights for similar styles. Or, you could simply follow them on Instagram (@highheeljungleofficial) and get lost in their designs on social media while checking out their latest styles!

Cozy Lounge wear, Corsets, and Lingerie for Under or Over!

Who doesn’t love a good pair of Fall PJ’s? Cozy lounge pant? Or sexy lingerie to pair under or over a stylish Autumn look? Let’s start with warm lounge wear for those colder months.

One of my favorite new lingerie sites to shop from is Bare Necessities. That’s because they have both a great selection of comfortable basics and lounge wear, as well as sexy lingerie. Browsing their site for styles I found my new go-to pant for these Fall months: UGG’s Terri Cozy Knit Lounge Pant – cozy indeed. I pair those with my other new go-tos: slides and sandals.

Since I’m going to be doing a significant amount of lounging under a blanket during these autumn and winter months, I also picked up a stylish pair of Bare Necessities’ satin-like PJ’s in a stylish black and white stripe combo! The Elegant Satin Pajama Set. I felt like I was a part of the Addams family wearing these beautiful and elegant PJ’s to bed and on the couch. I’d either wear those PJ’s or Bare’s classic Washed Satin Sleep Shirt. Because, it’s always nice to feel stylish when heading to bed as well!

But what about the lingerie you can pair over your holiday dresses? Over your long-sleeve thermals, blouses, and Autumn maxi dresses? I recommend Camio Mio’s Lightly Lined Bustier in Black or Maroon Banner. Super soft stretch-lace and gorgeous embroidery make this bustier elegant, yet easy to pair with Fall outfits. You can pair their bustier with their High Leg Brief as well for under! Or pair those brief’s with their Lightly Lined Demi Bra – perfect if you want a bit of lace to peek out from your holiday dresses.

If you’re also looking for some easy tops to pair with those lounge pants, I recommend Bare’s Smoothing Seamless Tank and Smoothing Seamless Bodysuit – both incredibly soft and comfortable! Those are the styles I’ve tried out from them, and they’re keeping me cozy and comfortable this Fall!

Or perhaps you’re looking for some more pinks and pastels? A unique design to throw on for bed. That not only makes you feel cozy on the outside, but on the inside as well? Well, basically I’m talking about Bluebella’s new collection with designer Ashley Williams. Mainly, because of how their exclusive Kitten Print makes me feel all warm and cozy just looking at the kitten designs.

Do I need to say more? There is a wide range of designs in this print, but my favorites are the BB x Ashley Williams Kitten Print Luxury Satin Crop Cami and Short Set and the Kitten Print Luxury Satin Shirt and Trousers – make it even better by adding their matching eye mask and panty! Along with the kitten designs, there’s also the daring pink Tattoo Print.

If you’re not into prints but want something just as comfortable and sexy from Bluebella, then I recommend their Marla Eco Viscose Short Pajama Set in Pale Pink – so soft – and their Clea Luxury Satin Short Chemise – so sexy!

And last but not least, if you want something else that’s sexy to wear to bed, I recommend Bluebella’s Aurora Open Bra in Black and Gold paired with their Aurora Thong. Gold-toned tassels and hardware, this seductive set is perfect for sexy-time in the Fall with its classic black design – with a gold twist!

With each season comes new finds. Which of my Fall selects have you fallen in love with?

Get it? *cough cough* Fallen??

No? …It’s Fall people!
