Her Campus Utah is beyond thrilled to feature Autumn Lieu as our Campus Celebrity! Autumn is one of Her Campus Utah’s top fashion writers, but also an amazing stylist’s assistant. She is so great at what she does, and literally one of my fashion role models. Here is what Autumn has to say about her amazing job:
Her Campus (HC): What do you do as a stylist’s assistant?
Autumn Lieu (AL): As a stylist’s assistant I help with photo shoots, pulling clothes, accessories and shoes, and help obtain the perfect look that the client is looking for. I also do all the nitty gritty work, like packing up the clothing and returning them to the stores we borrowed them for. The best part about it though is helping turn the client’s ideas into a reality and a masterpiece!
HC: What’s it like working a photo shoot?
AL: Shoots usually take up about half of the day, or even the entire day. It’s all worth it though because I am doing what I love, dressing the models and meeting new people.
HC: What do you plan on doing after graduation?
AL: After finishing up at the U, I hope to go to Parsons The New School for Design. I want to become a fashion buyer. Since I was young, fashion has always been a huge part of my life!
HC: What have you learned from being a stylist’s assistant?
AL: Being a stylist’s assistant has taught me so much! The biggest thing it’s taught me though is to have confidence! It’s so important to be confident and believe in yourself. Always chase yours dreams because someday you’ll reach them!
