8 Places for Comfort Food for Post Valentines Day

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Utah chapter.

Are you sad? Is it because Valentines Day is over and you’re single, midterms are here, or perhaps you are just in need of love and carbs? Whatever the case, comfort food is here to save the day!  Here is a list of the best places in Salt Lake to give you the love and warmth you deserve…from food.

1. Pig & a Jelly Jar

Would it even be a comfort food list if we didn’t include Pig & a Jelly Jar? Probably not. Their chicken and waffles are famous and will give you the satisfaction you deserve! On top of their fabulous chicken and waffles, they also offer superb southern food (their beignets are some of the best in town.)

2. Tradition

Tradition celebrates traditional American food in the best way. They offer favorites like chicken and dumplings, meatloaf, and fried chicken. If you want some sweet dessert comfort, they have an awesome pie menu with offers like caramel apple and spiced cherry!

3. Garage on Beck

Garage on Beck may look a little rough around the edges, but don’t let that fool you! Their food will warm your soul and comfort you like no other. With dishes like their famous Fried Mormon Funeral Potatoes and Golden Spike Onion Rings, you will be sure to get your fried food fix!

Perhaps you just want a nice soup and sandwich to comfort your soul.

7. Hook & Ladder Co Fire Station No 13

On top of being an adorable fire station theme, Hook & Ladder serves up some of the best fried comfort food and burgers in Salt Lake! Some of their specialties include their fish and chips,

8. Straw Market

I would like to first point out that nothing on this menu is over $7. You heard me, YOU CAN HAVE BRUNCH FOR UNDER SEVEN DOLLARS.
