If you’re looking to treat your dog, look no further! I have three dogs and I am always looking for new ways to help them stay happy and healthy/ So I have compiled a list of my top 10 must-have products for your dog.

harness

I cannot recommend this enough! I had a Labrador growing up and they’re prone to Laryngeal Paralysis, so he ended up passing away due to this, but had I known about harnesses it could have likely prolonged his lifespan and prevented his death. Harnesses prevent accidental damage to the laryngeal nerve when the dog pulls on the leash. They also reduce pulling and decrease stress on their neck and joints. If you have an escape artist (like my husky), then I highly recommend getting a 3 point harness: https://www.amazon.com/Rabbitgoo-Harness-Adjustable-Reflective-Material/dp/B01M8JT6FT/ref=sr_1_5?crid=PLNV0CX8AI6Y&keywords=harness+dog&qid=1645501622&sprefix=harness+do%2Caps%2C156&sr=8-5

Joint support — GLucosamine & FIsh oil

Glucosamine is an arthritis remedy used in humans and animals, but it can also be used to prevent future joint issues in large or giant breed puppies. It can also help alleviate pain and joint wear caused by hip dysplasia, as well as aiding in treatment of spinal disc injury. If you have an older dog or a large/giant breed puppy, I would suggest supplementing with glucosamine or Cosequin: https://www.amazon.com/Cosequin-Maximum-Strength-Chewable-Tablets/dp/B00GZWOWG0/ref=sr_1_5?crid=2XVTQ5F7SAQW5&keywords=glucosamine+for+dogs&qid=1645501760&sprefix=glucos%2Caps%2C149&sr=8-5

Fish oil is an amazing supplement to add to your dog’s diet — it can help with their coat and skin while also aiding in relieving allergies and joint pain. It has also been linked to strengthening their immune system and potentially helping them fight canine cancer (Arford, 2020). I highly recommend Nordic Naturals products; they have supplements for humans and animals that are ranked highly as they have the highest concentration, freshness, and purity! Find them here: https://www.amazon.com/Nordic-Naturals-Omega-Pet-Triglyceride/dp/B07VF83WLZ/ref=sr_1_2_sspa?crid=1D4AZS7493YKH&keywords=nordic+naturals+fish+oil+for+dogs&qid=1645502091&sprefix=nordic+naturals+fish+oil%2Caps%2C132&sr=8-2-spons&psc=1&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUEyRTFYUFdRUkFRSDM3JmVuY3J5cHRlZElkPUEwMjIyMTc0MTNHUlpKUkJPWFZEQiZlbmNyeXB0ZWRBZElkPUEwNzYzMTE1MTdXTDhTN1pVR0JQJndpZGdldE5hbWU9c3BfYXRmJmFjdGlvbj1jbGlja1JlZGlyZWN0JmRvTm90TG9nQ2xpY2s9dHJ1ZQ==

No-hide dog treats

Rawhide bones can cause internal blockages if your dog swallows large pieces. There’s also the risk of contamination — Salmonella & E. Coli! Additionally, there is risk of poisoning from the toxic chemicals used in processing the rawhide! After learning about the dangers of rawhide, I instead opted for No-Hide dog treats as an alternative for my dogs that like to chew on bones because they don’t pose the same risks that rawhide does! Find them here: https://www.petsmart.com/dog/treats/bones-and-rawhide/dentleys-rawhide-free-retriever-rolls-dog-treats—chicken-5286078.html?gclsrc=aw.ds&gclid=Cj0KCQiAjc2QBhDgARIsAMc3SqR9wzl7VPDFSVbLp_qEbWqC-rG0PmxIZFZP5cKBieWf_tDoCFDWMvIaAgOzEALw_wcB

Toothpaste

It’s estimated that over 66% of dogs over 3 years old have periodontal disease, which if left untreated can lead to painful tooth loss. While it may not be the easiest thing to brush your dog’s teeth, it is really important to do so! I use the brand Kissable — according to my research, other dog toothpaste brands often contained potentially harmful ingredients, but Kissable offered an all natural alternative! Purchase it here: https://www.amazon.com/KISSABLE-Dental-Finger-Brush-Value/dp/B00LJOAWZ4/ref=sr_1_2?crid=HGT5RVM37PWM&keywords=kissable+dog+toothpaste&qid=1645502488&sprefix=kissable+dog+too%2Caps%2C121&sr=8-2

Coat

Very small dogs or dogs with shorter coats may have a harder time retaining body heat. If your dog is in extremely cold temperatures for a prolonged amount of time, they may need a coat. Target has great options! https://www.target.com/p/color-block-option-dog-puffer-m-blue-green-boots-38-barkley-8482/-/A-82249069?ref=tgt_adv_XS000000&AFID=google_pla_df&fndsrc=tgtao&DFA=71700000086349373&CPNG=PLA_Pets%2BShopping_Traffic_Local_Traffic%7CPets_Ecomm_Essentials&adgroup=SC_Pets&LID=700000001170770pgs&LNM=PRODUCT_GROUP&network=g&device=c&location=9052441&targetid=aud-1453399007976:pla-378761730139&gclid=Cj0KCQiAjc2QBhDgARIsAMc3SqQszRr_hBSYUrx9ORAsnIQ617pdzq5IlFkGeKagnaFXRHbxrGb5Zw0aAvFcEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds

Boots

Dog boots can protect their paws from injuries while also preventing ice melt, snow, and debris from becoming lodged in their paw pads. It may take time for your dog to get used to, and not all dogs may like wearing them, but they can be beneficial especially during winter months. You can grab a pair of booties for your dog here: https://www.amazon.com/QUMY-Waterproof-Reflective-Velcro-Anti-Slip/dp/B01LYITJ4S/ref=sr_1_9?keywords=Doggie+Boots+That+Stay+On&qid=1645502707&sr=8-9

Shampoo

There are so many types of shampoos for dogs — it’s important to be sure to look out for certain toxic chemicals, specifically in dog shampoos that claim to kill ticks and fleas because some have actually caused animals to become ill or die due to toxic chemicals. I highly recommend opting for products with more natural ingredients — 4 Legger Organic Shampoo on Amazon is highly rated and they have a variety of nine USDA-certified organic shampoos with mild scents. Earthbath at Petsmart also has many options that are made without parabens, phthalates, sulfates, or phosphates: https://www.petsmart.com/dog/grooming-supplies/shampoos-and-conditioners/earthbath-hypo-allergenic-pet-shampoo—fragrance-free-5130646.html?gclsrc=aw.ds&gclid=Cj0KCQiAjc2QBhDgARIsAMc3SqQSfivORh-Y14ImzppjT6gOgxGDmZYidmt-jOyoKtvrQS4zv7d-4XQaApLMEALw_wcB

Cooling Vest/cooling pad

If you live in a warmer climate or have hot summer days, these are so helpful. Sometimes drinking cool water and shade aren’t enough. A cooling vest can help prevent heat exhaustion and potentially save your dog’s life! https://www.petsmart.com/dog/beds-and-furniture/cooling-and-heating-beds/cool-pet-padandtrade-self-cooling-pet-pad-5235233.html?gclsrc=aw.ds&gclid=Cj0KCQiAjc2QBhDgARIsAMc3SqSOf3tAgAyekVdVvRw0h0XHuQe22CFJjhp_HWYjovq74_-54AJ49MUaAhC3EALw_wcB

Biodegradable poop bags

This one speaks for itself! It gives you the ability to pick up after your dog while also taking care of the environment! https://www.petco.com/shop/en/petcostore/product/earth-rated-poopbags-unscented-dog-waste-bag-refills-pack-of-8-rolls—120-bags-2289637?cm_mmc=PSH%7cGGL%7cSPP%7cSBU04%7cSH6%7c0%7cn5NJzVdpn6vR7GeVoWRBmG%7c58700007475749261%7cPRODUCT_GROUP%7c0%7c0&gclid=Cj0KCQiAjc2QBhDgARIsAMc3SqSMhy8eH6ndbjBzpbAL-XyX-PJ5gGuMlv92xzMb2lPLl_tU-DiY7pgaAk58EALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds

Travel bowl

I highly recommend these especially if you take your dog hiking or on long walks! I always keep one with me when I’m walking my dogs during the hotter days in the spring and summer. I got mine on Amazon and they are collapsible plus they have a carabiner which makes them so convenient! https://www.amazon.com/Collapsible-Portable-Watering-Traveling-Carabiners/dp/B07VT1468W/ref=zg_bs_3024201011_1/130-5123097-2124448?pd_rd_i=B08D9J2Y8W&psc=1
