This year Tampa has hosted a string of great concerts at the Tampa Bay Times Forum. Big names like P!nk, Taylor Swift, Rihanna, Bruno Mars, and Alicia Keys just to name a few. Selena Gomez’s “Stars Dance” tour is sure to be another big hit like the other acts that graced the stage in Tampa. The opening acts include Emblem 3, and Christina Grimmie.

Turning 21 this year, Selena Gomez has worked hard to rebrand her image as an adult, pushing far away from her Barney and Disney beginnings. She co-starred alongside Vanessa Ann Hudgins, Ashley Benson, and James Franco in the provocative and controversial movie Spring Breakers that released in March 2013. Her next debut in August 2013 was Getaway with Ethan Hawke where she played a carjacking run-a-way. Dancing with barely any coverage during the Stars Dance tour while singing fan favorites and new singles, she is sure to end 2013 with a bang. Clearly Gomez is making a statement, that she is all grown up.

Opening for Gomez is the boy group, Emblem 3, who rose to fame last year as a contestant on The X Factor. Under Simon Cowell’s wing, the trio, consisting of brothers Wesley and Keaton Stromberg, and their close friend Drew Chadwick, released their first song early this spring with “Chloe (You’re The One I Want)”. Joining Emblem 3 as an opening act is Christina Grimmie who rose to pop stardom with a string of Youtube covers. She also sang backup on Selena Gomez second album, Selena Gomez & the Scene. Since then, Grimmie released her own debut album, With Love earlier this year.
