USFSP Homecoming 2017!

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at USFSP chapter.

This past Tuesday, Harborside Activities Board (HAB) put on their traditional Homecoming dance in preparation for the Homecoming game on Saturday. This year’s theme was Cirque De La Bull.

Just like high school, getting ready for a dance is twice as fun as the actual dance, and that’s even more so the case in college. There is truly nothing better than gossiping with your girlfriends while helping each other with hair and makeup.

Before the dance

We all had such much fun getting ready and thought it would be fun to share our looks from the dance!

Myself after the dance

“I know, yet another black dress. I have realized that a good majority of the clothes that I’m drawn to are  either black or dark in nature. But as they say, the heart wants what it wants. I found this dress from Marshall’s, and I thought initially it would be too casual but decided to dress it up by adding black wedges and red lipstick. I also completed the look by adding a simple choker, straightened my hair, and added a flare with a natural golden eyeshadow.”

Vanessa Rivera, Social Media Director

“I loved my dress because it was casual but still made me feel like a 10/10. My favorite part of my makeup was my lip color. I used NYX Liquid Suede in the color ‘Cherry Skies.’ I can never find the right occasion to wear red lipstick so the dance was the perfect opportunity.”

Shayla Fajardo, Campus Correspondent

“I LOVE accessories! I feel like they can add so much to your outfit. This dress was super simple and plain, so I went for a jeweled bib necklace to help jazz it up a bit. It required little work, and I feel like it really pulled everything together.”

Kelli Carmack, Co-President

“I felt so beautiful in my Windsor Dress! I felt like Daisy in the Great Gatsby. I also had so much fun getting to use Hayley’s Too Faced Eyeshadow pallette.”

Because the dance was not enough to show off our outfits, we decided to take a trip to our local Ihop where we got to enjoy our food in a completely empty restaurant. What better place to reminisce on the nights festivities than over breakfast food at midnight??

This was my first and last Homecoming that I will have as a college student, and I honestly cannot think of people that I would rather spend it with than these girls. I had such an amazing night!
