This semester my class project was based on creating a hero like no other and the end result was the creation of College Man. Since I started college, my wallet has gone through a roller coaster. We all probably wanted a hero at some time in our life, to save us financially. Whether it was that $5 off coupon or knowing there was a bogo (buy one get one free) sale for groceries. College Man is that hero and as co-creator, acknowledging my best friend originating the idea, here are some tips on how to save that wallet.

Apps the word So it may sound odd but look up your favorite fast food joint or even retail shop in the app store. Surprisingly, many places now have an app for additional coupons or rewards system. So while you buy that McDonald’s frappe, you are working for that fifth free drink.

Email subscriptions Usually restaurants and retails will give you a 5-20% discount just for signing up in their email subscription. Additionally, they will continue to send you discount and sales which is super helpful.

Sell your stuff So I’m sure we have all heard of Plato’s Closet and if you haven’t tried it yet, you should. This place will literally pay you for your H&M dress or that Apostle top. I will admit, it’s not a huge cash deal but it can buy you lunch. Returns are also a good way to get your money back for that planner kit you never used from Wal-Mart. As long as they are still new in the box, Wal-Mart will give you store credit.

Student Discounts At last, we’re all students and at the very least we get 10% discount at the theaters and some lunch meals. It is always handy to ask about a discount, it can save you $3 that can be used for that smoothie you love so much.

So I hope these quick College Man tips save that wallet.
