A huge problem facing colored women everywhere for as long as anyone can remember has been the struggle to find a nude shade that actually works with our skin tone. Most of the “nude” clothing and underwear garments made today only cater towards the lighter skin tones. Nude underwear is a staple for most women’s wardrobes, so why is it so hard to find such a basic clothing item for people with darker skin? This makes it very difficult for colored women to be able to hide their bras and underwear under more sheer clothing. “Nubian Skin founder, Ade Hassan, decided it was time for ‘a different kind of nude’,” (Nubian Skin).

Nubian Skin provides a nude that comes in a wider variety of darker shades ranging from lighter shades like cinnamon and caramel to a darker berry color. People are absolutely loving this new line and everyone is wondering “why didn’t this come sooner?!”

“Inspired by trail blazing women, Eunice W. Johnson and super model Iman, who created Fashion Fair and Iman cosmetics, Ade took the leap and created Nubian Skin.  It’s been an uphill battle, but every revolution starts somewhere,” (Nubian Skin).

Many women appreciate the battle they are fighting because now they have something as simple as an option to find clothing that better suits their needs.

THANK YOU NUBIAN SKIN!! <3
