Must Things to Do at Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at USFSP chapter.

This is Halloween; everybody make a SCREAM! I recently took a break from college life to visit Orlando and attend Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween party. Here are my things you MUST do when attending the party!

1. Dress Up

You will have the time of your life scoping out other partygoers’ creative costumes. Do not be left out of the fun by not dressing up! Here I threw on some skeleton tights and grabbed my pet bat and called myself Jack Skellington.

2. Meet the Special Characters

Ok, can we please take a moment to fangirl on how cute Donald Duck looks in his pumpkin costume? I mean come on, my heart just melts looking at him. At Mickey’s Not-So-Scary you can meet special characters. I met Donald Duck at Storybook Circus. You can also meet all of the Seven Dwarfs and Minnie Mouse in her adorable witch costume. Be sure to line up for your favorite characters right at 7 p.m. to avoid the long lines. When entering the party, be sure to grab a pamphlet to see where other characters are meeting because there is tons more!

Bonus tip! If you have an annual pass you can spend the day at Magic Kingdom before the party starts. Jack and Sally are in high demand, and their line will get very long when the party starts. The bonus tip is that Jack and Sally surprisingly start meeting people right before 5 p.m. Try to get in early so that you do not waste your precious party time waiting in line.

3. Attend the shows

From the pamphlet you grabbed at the beginning, you can see when to see when the show times are. You can have the Sanderson Sister put a spell on you at the Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular show. At this show, you will see villains that you will only get to see at the Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween party. One of my favorite villains, Oogie Boogie, made an appearance at the show!

Be sure to make your Halloween wishes at the HalloWishes firework show. I recommend ending the night by watching the “Boo-to-You” parade. You will get to see the grave diggers from the haunted mansion in this parade! Try to get to these shows early in order to get a good spot.

4. Try out the Special Halloween Treats

At certain locations, they have really neat Halloween-themed treats. This spooky spider web Mickey cinnamon bun can be found at the Main Street Bakery.

5. Check out All the Fun Decorations

When walking down Main Street, be sure to check out all the festive decorations. See how many cute pumpkins you can find scattered around Main Street! The Mickey shaped pumpkins are my absolute favorite.

My advice is to attend Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party at least once. Check out my blog @Cassandra.blogs for more related posts.
