Meet the Team: Madison Alexa Fowler

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at USFSP chapter.

As a commuter student, I can definitely say being involved on campus is not necessarily the easiest thing. Driving to campus maybe 30 minutes for an hour-long event can push some of us to the “lazy” side. If we work, that itself is another priority to take into account. We all know that education is the primary focus in our college career (or at least it should be), but that college career should also include extracurricular involvement and who are we kidding, some fun too!!!

Madison Alexa Fowler, a sophomore at USFSP, majoring in Mass Communications, once defied the “commuter” excuse but has now become involved on campus. Madison’s first leadership position began this semester, spring 2015, as the Vice-president of Her Campus.

Let’s get to know our amazing VP a little bit more up-close and personal, whom has been a joy to work with so far this semester in helping our chapter get back on the right track.

K- What do you plan on doing after graduation?

M- “I plan to move to Chicago or New York. Live the “big-city” life and have a successful career in Journalism, Broadcast or Public Relations.

K- What made you join Her Campus?

M- “My friend Cynthya Walker told me about it. I went to a meeting and here I am! I love writing, hence my major, plus it’s a fun club!”

K- If you could get an all-paid trip anywhere, where would it be and why?

M- “Probably London. I have never been there, but I would love to experience the culture (and accents).”

K- Number one item on your bucket list.

M- “As of right now, study abroad.”

K- How are you involved at USFSP?

M- “I am becoming more involved with contributing to several clubs, writing and editing for several networks and attending as many school events as I can. Go bulls!”

K-Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

M- “Almost thirty, so probably married with a cute little family (including all my rescued animals of course). Also, still a vegetarian and crazy dog lady.”

K- Advise to incoming freshman?

M- “Get involved!”
