How to build a work wardrobe in 5 easy steps

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at USFSP chapter.

1. Blazers

Nothing can better send the look of confidence than a smart looking blazer. Every woman

needs this essential staple piece of clothing in their closet. This blazer is a great piece to pair with

your favorite sleeveless shirt so you can still look professional in the workplace.

2. Dresses

A longer length of dress is more appropriate to wear at work. You can never have too many

dresses in your wardrobe. They are the perfect piece of clothing because you can easily throw it

on  when you don’t have much time and still look fabulous.

3. Skirts

A great skirt can go a long way. A sleek pencil skirt is just what you need to make a confident

entrance to the workplace. People will take you seriously in something like this cute black pencil

skirt with a lace applique at the bottom. Any fun, bright colored top could easily make this outfit

a winner!

4. Pants

Pants don’t have to be a boring staple in your wardrobe. They can easily be a fun piece of

clothing if you decide to buy pants with fun and colorful prints. To wear something as bold as

these, a cute, but plain, top should be paired with them. You are guaranteed to be the most

fashionable in the office after wearing these!

5. Accessories

Statement necklaces have become quickly a very popular accessory to have in the closet. They

are the perfect accessory to quickly spice up a dull outfit. My favorite use for statement

necklaces is to layer them on top of a plainer solid colored top. Your outfit will instantly go from

fab to drab!
