Four Outfit Ideas for Valentine’s Day!

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at USFSP chapter.

For us girls, Valentine’s Day can be stressful. You gotta look good no matter who you’re with on Valentines Day! Whether you’re going on a first date, dinner with the girls or a romantic night with your boyfriend or girlfriend, you want to turn heads. I put together four outfits, simple but cute, for all you college girls for the 14th. All items are currently online at Forever21 and if you order now it would make it time for your special night!

This first look can be very casual but pairing it with more formal accessories will make your outfit complete.  Because this dress is a simple, black, sheer high-low, any color heel or bag will be cute. The nude heel and bag ties everything together. You can pair it with sandals to dress it down if you are going to the movies or just having dinner with the girls.

This second look is a little black dress that would be perfect for a date with a guy or girl you just met.  The lace overlaps the black dress and gives it a dressier feel. It can be paired with a simple black or gold belt to show off your curves. The deep V in the back of the dress is different than it being in the front. You can be an unexpected jewel by showing off your back instead of too much cleavage. A simple black flat is an essential and for a first date, you don’t want to be struggling to walk. This shoulder bag has gold detailing which gives the outfit some shimmer. Personally, this is my favorite outfit and I’m definitely contemplating getting the dress!

This third look is a little more daring. I know wearing red on Valentine’s Day can seem cliché but I think this dress is perfect. It’s simple and very easy to add any accessory. I suggest a bulky, short necklace to keep things classy. You can wear this with or without the tights, depending on how comfortable you are with showing your legs. I suggest wearing wedges with this look because this dress is on the simple side and you don’t want to be running around in five-inch stilettos. The strap around the ankle gives this look a little edge and it’s not your average wedged heel. Your date will be sure to love the daring red.

This last look is definitely the sexiest. The black strapless maxi dress has a pretty big slit to show off your legs (just make sure you don’t pull an Angeline Jolie!)  And because your chest is so bare, I suggest wearing a short chunky necklace. I picked a coiled, gold one to make the black dress have some color. Heels with this dress will make your legs look even longer and better. The gold accent on the heel will tie the necklace and the purse together. The purse is a pop of a creamy white with a gold trim and strap. You can put it over your shoulder or have it as a clutch (the straps can easily be tucked inside). Your date will be wowed for sure!

These are all my Valentine’s Day looks I’ve created for all of you. Hope you guys get inspired and create your own outfits! Hope everyone has a wonderful Valentine’s!
