Thanks to USFSP’s Harborside Activities Board, Campus MovieFest, the world’s largest student film festival, is coming to USFSP.

All USFSP students are able to participate in this competition. The premise of this event is that USFSP students will record a 5-minute short film in one week, either in teams or by themselves. Campus MovieFest will supply everything; cameras, sound equipment, etc. for free. The top 16 films entered into the competition will be showcased at a black tie event in the USC ballrooms. The top 4 films will then be in the running for Campus MovieFest’s national grand finale and could win awesome cash and prizes that total up to $100,000.

Here are the dates for this event:

INFO SESSION – February 15th – 7PM-9PM

LAUNCH – February 17th – 12PM to 5PM – Student Life Center Lobby

COLLECTION – February 23rd – 2PM to 6PM – Student Life Center 2101

FINALE – February 29th – Doors 7PM / Show 7:30PM – University Student Center Ballroom

“HAB brought this event to USFSP to give students the opportunity to be creative and make films that showcase their ideas and talents…hopefully this event will bring students that do not usually participate in events a sense of connection to the University”, said Makenzie Burrows, President of HAB.

Hi, I'm Kelli Carmack! I am a senior Mass Communications Major at USFSP with a minor in Art History. I'm currently the Co-President of Her Campus at USFSP, a leadership role I hold dear to my heart. I have some pretty big dreams for myself. I plan on getting into the broadcast journalism and/or entertainment field. I hope to one day be the next Barbara Walters, sitting down with prominent people and asking them those hard-hitting questions. While I'm not busy focusing on my career goals, I enjoy going to the beach, painting and reading!
A Mass Communications Major with a passion for inspiring others.
