I am someone who has a hard time being consistent in anything at all – especially tracking my daily routines; what  I am eating, thoughts throughout the day, and writing down my to-do lists (that usually consist of homework assignments and blog posts to write).

When a new trend of keeping a journal known as “bullet-journaling” hit the feeds of my Pinterest, Instagram, and Tumblr home pages, I couldn’t help but be pulled into the beautiful spreads of photography and calligraphy that many bloggers have just recently begun to craze over.

For those of you who don’t know, let me  briefly define a bullet journal before I talk about my experience with it thus far. According to the official bulletjournal.com website, a Bullet Journal is a customizable organizing system, in which it is usually used as the one place that holds your thoughts- “diary entries-” throughout the day, to-do lists, tracking of your food and drink consumption, sketches, or anything else that you want to include in the daily journal entry. The Bullet Journal teaches you how to do more with less.

At the beginning of January, I ordered three different planners online. They are all beautifully designed planners, but I could not find just one that would track my daily food consumption and workouts, homework and school events, AND my social calendar, so I wound up buying three. About a week after, I was scrolling through my Pinterest feed, and I came across 3 or 4 articles in a row all having to do with bloggers’ experiences with bullet journaling, or how to start a bullet journal. I clicked on one article to read because it piqued my interest. Before I had finished reading all of the articles, I pulled a blank journal off my bookshelf, therefore changing my daily journaling routine.

I’ll admit it was a total waste to buy all of those planners, especially now that I bullet journal daily. It’s just so easy when you start from a blank page and personalize it to your liking. I never thought I could become someone consistent to journal everyday, but it has been about a month now, and I have never felt more organized in my life – especially in college.
