5 Ways to Unwind After Finals Week

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at USFSP chapter.

Finals week is officially over and it is time to unwind! We have been endlessly memorizing notecards, spending hours at the library, stressing about grades. Now that finals are finished, it is time to take care of yourself and here’s how you do it!

Get those comfy clothes on!

It is so nice to wake up and know that you don’t have to go to school. Even better than that though is that you don’t have to dress up to impress anyone! All that is needed is a comfy sports bra, hoodie, and some sweatpants and just like that you are done. You can even rock that onesie! Also, messy buns are accepted here (because why not?).

Netflix till you drop

Let’s be real, we all love Netflix. And what we love even more than Netflix is binge watching our favorite shows on Netflix. However, it is just hard to find time in between classwork and finals to catch up with your favorite characters. This is the perfect way to unwind.

Sleep.

Does this really need an explanation?! Sleep deprivation are two words that basically describes finals week in a nutshell. Take this rare opportunity to actually sleep and take care of yourself.

Maybe pick up a book?

I’m sure many of us can’t even remember the last time we read a book for fun. This could be the time to find a new favorite author or to re-read the entire Harry Potter series. Whatever you read make sure you enjoy it because who knows when you will have this type of opportunity again.

Spend time with family

This just might be the most important one. Being at college can become quite stressful, especially because for most of us our families are far away. It is nice to get out of finals because it allows us to spend time with those who mean the most to us, like our close friends and family. It is exciting to go home and celebrate the holidays with family. Most of the time, family are the people that help you unwind the best.
