Wide leg pants are back on top trending for the new spring season! Learn how to incorporate these pants into your wardrobe with a few simple tips.

It is important to know that wide leg pants are not one size fits all. They look great with all body types. If you have a muffin top you’re trying to hide, wear your wide leg pants high on your waist. If you have skinny legs, wear pants that are tight in the top upper part with only a small flare. If you want to hide your thighs, wear a standard leg pant with a wide flare. If you are pear-shaped, wear flat front pants instead of pleated or with side pockets. If you are on the shorter side, wear wide leg pants that are more fitted at the top with not too much flare. If you are tall, then these are definitely the pants for you! Wide leg pants will add a lengthy look to your legs. No matter what shape or side, try out this trend. It’s always fun to experiment and even more fun when you make a great find. Once you’ve got your outfit together, your figure will look fabulous!

But the key to wide leg pants is not overdoing it. Pair a long, flowing pant with a basic top and not a baggy one. The combination of a baggy blouse with flare pants is just not going to work. Also, be sure to buy your wide leg pants long. You don’t want flare pants that are too short and look like high-water pants instead. Plus, it looks really nice when your wide leg pants hide your high heels or wedge sandals. But don’t be pressured into only wearing heels, wide leg pants work well with flats too.

In addition, you can either wear wide leg pants at your regular waist or pull them up to be high-waisted. I recently purchased cheetah print wide leg pants and I love how they look high-waisted with a cute belt. Adding a belt slims down and defines your waist.

If you’re not sure what pair of pants to buy, don’t worry! Wide leg pants come in variety of prints and fabrics. Online in various fashion blogs, I’ve seen satin, denim, and linen, as well as pretty prints and solid colors.

Overall, wide leg pants offer movement and are extremely comfortable. When I tried mine on for the first time, I felt like I was wearing the most comfortable pair of pajama pants. But do not be fooled; wide leg pants look nothing like the polka dot print flannel pajama pants you own. Wide leg pants look classy, sophisticated and stylish. So take a risk and try them out for yourself!

You can purchase wide leg pants at Forever 21, H&M, Urban Outfitters and Asos. Asos offers free shipping both ways and discounts for students!
