Throwback Thursday: Technology You May Have Forgotten

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at USF chapter.

Long before we had iPhones and DVD’s, we had flip phones and VHS tapes. I remember when I got my first Walkman player and thought it was the coolest thing. The younger generation today does not know what technoloy was like in the ’90s. Take a trip down memory lane with these nostalgic items.

1.      CD Walkman

After cassette tapes, we transitioned to CD’s. If you owned one of these, you were one of the cool kids! Having “skip” was an added bonus.

2.      VHS

If most of your favorite childhood movies were watched on a VCR, you are a true 90’s kid. “Please be kind, rewind,” is a quote you understand!

3.      Desktop Computers

This was probably what your first computer looked like growing up. Back before high-speed, we had dial-up. The struggle of trying to use the Internet while your mom talked on the phone was real.

4.      Flip Phones

Before we were taking selfies with our smart phones, we were learning how many times to press the numbers to get the letter we wanted. Touchscreen is so much easier!

Think about the things you use today. Wow, we have definitely come a long way! Did you own any of these, collegiettes™?
