Happy spring break! I hope you all enjoyed the weekend so far. If you’re like me, you probably stayed in Tampa this week. Maybe this is your home (literally) or you didn’t feel like going home or you couldn’t afford to. Up until recently, I always thought that there was nothing to do in Tampa, but in reality there is ton of things to do! This week don’t just spend your days on campus. Go out and explore the bay! With all of the endless possibilities, I am going to highlight a few ideas that I myself am considering on doing over spring break. I hope you continue to enjoy your week!

THE BEACH. Yes, couldn’t leave that one out. To some people spring break isn’t spring break without the beach. This week the weather is supposed to be gorgeous, so make use of it! To do something a little different, actually wake up really early (or don’t go to sleep) and go to the beach to watch the sunrise. If you can’t stomach waking up before the roosters, settle for watching the sunset. Either way, it will be a beautiful scene.

LOWRY PARK ZOO. If you can’t remember the last time you went to the zoo or if you’ve never actually been to one, then I suggest that you check out our local zoo, the Lowery Park Zoo. They always have a lot of very interesting animals and on occasion, have special events occurring.

THE RIVERWALK. Take a drive to downtown and stroll down the strip of The Riverwalk. Check out the Tampa Riverwalk Historical Monument Trail and learn about Tampa’s history.

FOOD. Eat your way through Tampa. Try out a new restaurant or two, maybe even more that you never had the chance to try. Experience different flavors and cuisines that you were skeptical about trying before.

HYDE PARK VILLAGE. Shop a little, eat a little and mingle with people there. This week the annual Chalk Walk is being hosted there. Should be an amusing event!
