Do you ever find yourself sitting at home on a Saturday night wondering what to do? I have the perfect solution to curing your boredom: a Tampa Bay Lightning game. The Tampa Bay Lightning offer a Student Rush program that allows students to attend home games for just $20 per person.

The Lightning is currently the second-best team in the National Hockey League. The franchise is celebrating their 25-year anniversary and this is the team’s hottest season since their 2004 Stanley Cup win. It is crazy to think that sunny Tampa Bay is considered a hockey town, but it’s true! I can guarantee that you will not be disappointed with your experiences at Amalie Arena.

There are a few simple steps for applying for Student Rush tickets:

  1. Text RUSH to 61873. You will be sent your Student Rush code. This will ensure that you will get a wristband upon entry to the game
  2. Get to the arena early. This will give you a better opportunity at getting an actual assigned seat over standing room only. I recommend getting to the arena an hour before puck drop
  3. Bring your student ID. This is critical for getting your tickets, so don’t forget it at home.
  4. Wear your best Bolts merchandise. You get an advantage of picking a better seat when you are dressed for the occasion.

If you haven’t made it out to a Bolts game yet this NHL season, then what are you waiting for? It’s the perfect way to connect with the Tampa Bay community. With just one game you just might call yourself a Lightning fan.
