Sharosia McCall, formally known as Rose, is a biomedical science major in her junior year of college. She finds the positive people she surrounds herself with to be some of her biggest influences. The smart and driven attitudes of her close friends and family are the reasoning behind her ambitious nature. She will be a senior as of Spring 2013. This is a huge accomplishment and milestone in her family history because Rose is the first of her family to receive a college education.
When Rose isn’t in class or studying, she enjoys partaking in one of her many hobbies. Rose is a wonderful cook, a passionate writer, loves drawing, reading and occasionally participating in a little modeling from time to time. She is active in her community, and a member of Eternal Legendary Queens, Inc., a service organization. Her favorite candies are sour jolly ranchers and she has a silly, strange habit of spraying the popular air freshener, Lysol, just way too much. Whenever Rose goes on one of her spraying frenies, her friends tease her and complain about being suffocated by the fumes. They often take the bottle away from her and threaten to confiscate it.
Rose is unable to bend her right thumb, just another random fact.
Rose moved to Tampa from Miami, Florida and left her home in Hialeah to pursue her dream of one day being a medical science researcher. She wants to find the “CURE,” she said.
Rose is also known for giving expert dating tips. For all the freshman girls entering “the college dating scene” for the first time, Rose has some words of advice: “Don’t date a guy that puts Greek letters before man,” she says, “He will just toy with you if he’s just being Greek and not a MAN.”
When Rose thinks of her role models, four women come to mind: First Woman, Michelle Obama; American media proprietor, Oprah Winfrey; established author, Maya Angelou; and last but not least, her mother. Rose admires these strong female icons and strives to follow in their footsteps.
Rose is ambitious in nature and best describes herself like a cheetah. The cheetah’s independent lifestyle and ability to hunt and capture prey on its own reminds her of herself. She is a strong and independent individual, just like the cheetah, and goes after what she wants, when she wants it. Nothing can stand in the way of Rose and her goals. She is a go-getter and thrives off her success.
