GoodKnocking Entertainment Group, in collaboration with C3Promotions, hosted The Return of the Soothing Sounds Experience which featured many different artists of various genres at Thyrst Ultra Lounge on June 26.
The event was the perfect opportunity for young talent around the Tampa Bay and USF Community to come and display their skills. Not only was it a talent showcase, but it was an opportunity to network with other performers and young entrepreneurs from the area. Artists auditioned on two separate days, rehearsed with the outstanding band, iGets Live, and then were ready to wow the audience with their poetry, jazz and live performances.
The MC for the night was a USF alumnus, JNelle, who is no newbie to the stage. She is known around USF for her vocal talent and involvement on campus. She even had an impromptu jam session with member of the band, Phil Scott, which was another element that wowed the audience.
However, the spotlight act of this event was Keaidy Bennet. This blogger, author and poet is a young woman with a dream. She performed work From Her Book, “Chronicles of A Love Addict: A Collection of Poems By A Love Junkie”. Each Soothing Sounds event spotlights a different act and this one did not fail to disappoint.
The entertainment group is attempting to bring back the event that was previously held, after having a short hiatus. With the success and great response from the public about the first event, another event is set to take place on August 2, at Thyrst Ultra Lounge. However it is being revamped into more of a daytime social.
There will be VIP treatment, full kitchen service, networking and drink specials. There is also an open mic aspect, where persons who missed the auditions will have a chance to give an impromptu performance. The event will kick off at 4 p.m. so do not miss your chance to bear witness to some of the talent that the Tampa Bay area has to offer.
