Taylor Swift is back with her highly anticipated fourth studio album Red, which, aptly named, has been red hot as the album shot straight to No. 1 on iTunes Top Albums chart upon its release, and it shows no signs of slowing down.

Red is a mix of eclectic sounds and techniques as this album takes an even bigger departure from Swift’s initial country roots, as Red sits more comfortable amongst the pop categorized albums, but it still manages to stay true to Swift’s signature catchy lyrics and hooks that will be stuck in your head for days (in the good way!).

So what’s a little Taylor Swift without a slew of songs about relationships and tumultuous break-ups? Well not much of one at all, luckily this album isn’t lacking in that department with singles like “Red,” “Begin Again,” “Treacherous” and “I Knew You Were Trouble,” which is a different style for Taylor as she incorporates a more electropop sound with a dubstep influence in the chorus, that shows Taylor’s adaptability and willingness to step outside the box with her music. Taylor even collaborates with some of music’s biggest names like Ed Sheeran on the track “Everything Has Changed” and Gary Lightbody of Snow Patrol on “The Last Time” for songs that highlight the deeper side of Red. For hardcore Taylor fans this album still brings that spark that is all her own on the ever popular single “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” and “22” which both capture a young and vibrant spirit through their upbeat and infectious lyrics.

Fans of Swift’s will be satisfied and over-joyed with this album especially when trying to figure out Taylor’s tell-all lyrics about relationships, broken hearts and romance as they try to match her ex-beau’s to the song. Just recently Taylor announced her North American RED tour to begin in early 2013. Ed Sheeran will even be accompanying her across her tour as a special guest act, which is sure to be a highly anticipated and must see show.
