I know you love music, so I’ve put together a list of some of my favorite songs to create the perfect summer mix guaranteed that all collegiettes™ will love!Â
HC Summer Mix
1. Too Close – Alex Clare. Have you ever watched that Bing commercial and asked yourself what that song was in the background? Well, now you have it! This song gives dubstep a new meaning and I could listen to it all day. Â
2. Kids – Sleigh Bells. If you’ve ever watched the television show Skins, then you’ve probably heard this song. All song’s from Sleigh Bells seriously rock, but this is the one I find myself jamming out to the most on the open road.Â
3. I Wanna – The All-American Rejects. One word: Tyson Ritter. Did I win you over already? The All-American Rejects is a classic and this song makes me want to dance.Â
4. My Temperature’s Rising – The Audition. This song was a single in 2009, but I still find myself looking through my iPod to find it. Any time this song comes on my shuffle it’s guaranteed to be a good car ride.Â
5. Fucking Boyfriend – The Bird And The Bee. This song rocks. It’s so darn catchy that you’ll find yourself singing it all day. It even topped the Billboard Hot Dance Club Play chart on the issue dated December 2, 2006.Â
6. Deep South – Cartel. Cartel will always hold a special place in my heart because it’s something I grew up listening to in high school. I recently discovered this song and automatically fell in love. Whenever I want to have a good time, I play this song.Â
7. Drunk – Ed Sheeran. So if you don’t know who Ed Sheeran is by now, where have you been? Seriously. Take the time to listen to not only this song (which is my favorite), but his whole album. This man is a lyrical genius and he rocks!
8. Better Love – Eisley. “Better Love” is one of my favorite Eisley songs and it always puts me in a good mood.Â

10. Dead End – The Format. If you love listening to Fun. then you’ll definitely love The Format because it’s the same singer, Nate Ruess. This is my favorite The Format song and I’m sure it will become yours too.Â
11. Settle Down – Kimbra. This could possibly be the best song on this entire mix. You know Kimbra from Gotye’s song “Somebody That I Used To Know“, and she recently released a new album. “Settle Down” is the best song on the album, hands down, and it knows how to get the party started.Â
12. Hey Mama – Mat Kearney. This song automatically puts me in a good mood. It’s so upbeat and fun that it definitely qualifys for a perfect summer song.Â

14. Some Nights – Fun. It seems like this song blew up overnight and now everyone and their mother knows this song. I feel like this is a necessity on everyone’s mix.Â
15. Run And Don’t Stop – The Rocket Summer. This band is a must have on every mix that I make. “Run And Don’t Stop” is a new song and couldn’t have come out at a better time. It’s a perfect summer song.Â
16. Crush’d – Say Anything. I love love love this song. If you haven’t heard it, you can thank me later.Â
17. Goodbye To Yesterday – Sovereign Soldiers. You’ve probably never heard of this song, or even band, and that’s why i’m bringing it to you. Previously named Amely, Sovereign Soldiers recently formed to create sweet music and this song was one of their first singles.Â
18. TGIF – The Secret Handshake. Basically any song from The Secret Handshake calls for a party, but this is one of my favorites.
19. Give Your Heart A Break – Demi Lovato. This needs to be one of your go-to songs this summer. Whenever it’s on the radio I always have to turn it up and dance.Â
20. Gold On The Ceiling – The Black Keys. Alright, you have to end every good playlist with a bang and this song surely does that. The Black Keys are slowly becoming one of my favorites and you’ll know why once you check out this song.
