Nicole Heubusch is a junior at USF currently majoring in English. She transferred from the Hillsborough Community College. She is very career driven and is working towards making her dreams as a writer come true.
What are you studying and why? “I’m going for English-Writing in New Media. My goal is to be a published author. My dream job is working for a magazine, either being a writer or editor.”
Where are you from? “Buffalo, New York, but I moved here to Tampa when I was five.”
Why did you choose to go to USF? “It’s close to home, so I can live at home and save money and the commute it short.”
How would you say that your friends describe you? “My friends would probably describe me as shy until I open up. Then they would probably describe me as funny and nice.”
What are your favorite snacks to eat? “I enjoy eating vegan cookies, Pinkberry, and pretzel M&M’s.”
What are your favorite activities? “My favorite activities are reading, writing and watching movies. I just recently started running, which I try to do three times a week. I like watching sports, mostly football and baseball.”
Are you involved in any other clubs? “Not yet, I’m thinking about joining SGA.”
What’s one thing you want to do before you die? “I would love to try bungee jumping.”
What’s a fun fact about your self? “My lucky number is 11 and my birthday is 11/11. I was happy to be turning 21 on my favorite day.”
If you were in a zombie movie, what character would you play and why? “If I were in a zombie movie, I would hope I would be out there killing them (zombies) and not hiding in a boarded up house.”
[I always find it interesting to ask people this question because you can find out more on what kind of person they see themselves as: a victim, helpless or a survivor]
If you could indulge yourself with one thing what would it be? “If I could indulge myself with one thing it would probably be getting my own apartment and having it completely furnished from Ikea.”
What is currently going on in your love life? “I was dating someone earlier this summer but it wasn’t serious and now I’m single.”
What’s your Motto that you live by? “’Life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass, it’s about dancing in the rain.’”
I really got to learn a lot about the kind of person Nicole is through this interview. I did not expect her to be a vegetarian or even want to bungee jump before she dies. I do know however, that Nicole will go far in life because she has her priorities in check and is a hard worker. Her motto shows me she is not one to sit around while life passes her by. She makes the most out of any situation. This just goes to show you there’s more to people than meets the eye.
