We’re a few weeks into the semester, and school, work and extracurriculars are really picking up their momentum. That extra effort you made to look adorable every day in the beginning of the semester is just not happening anymore.

Don’t worry, because Her Campus USF has your back. Here’s a step-by-step guide to building the most effortless-yet-stylish outfit.

Step 1: Slip into your favorite jeans

We all have those perfectly worn-in pair of jeans that fits our tushies just right. Put them on! Looking good and feeling good inspire self-confidence.

Step 2: Fitted v-neck t-shirts are your friend.

The classic v-neck t-shirt is simple, comfortable and flattering. Whether you have a small chest or a large one, the v-neck is will make your chest look awesome. Put this closet staple on over your favorite jeans.

Step 3: Throw on some sandals.

Sandals are the go-to shoe for us Florida girls for a reason. You can dress them up, or you dress them down. Best of all, they are sweat-resistant! They come in a million different styles: strappy, boho, preppy or classy. Slide your feet into your favorite pair.

Step 4: Embellish with a statement necklace.

Statement necklaces give an outfit a huge pop with no effort. They are the easiest and trendiest way to accessorize your comfy outfit. Gather some inspirations from the way these fellow Lady Bulls wore their statement necklaces in this Her Campus USF article from last semester.

Step 5: Finish off the look with a “hold-everything” bag.

Ah, the convenience of a giant bag! You never know when you might need that floss, or those 7 pens! Grab your big purse, stuff your school work and healthy snacks in there, and call it an outfit!

Hey there! My name is Samantha Stern and I'm a graduating senior of mass communication with a concentration on magazine journalism at the University of South Florida. I've been writing for Her Campus USF since January 2013 and this semester I was appointed editor-in-chief of the online publication. Life is a stressful thing and I want to provide a means of escape and self- improvement for young women, as well as for myself, by writing fun, engaging and useful content accessible anytime and anywhere via the internet. My ultimate goal is to empower women in their 20's. Women are hungry for everyday life advice. They crave tips for achieving the ideal in money, intelligence, beauty, fashion, health and lifestyle. I will satiate their informational appetite and, more importantly, help them become their outright best by writing fun and practical content relevant to the modern 20-something.When I'm not writing you can find me reading magazines (duh!) and books, taking long, hot baths and exploring local haunts with friends and family.Feel free to follow we on Twitter @samantha__stern or check out my resume and portfolio by clicking here.
