Her Campus USF is so excited to welcome such a talented group of writers, social media gurus and public relations specialists this semester. This week we’re reflecting on Her Campus USF Alumnae from the 2017-2018 school year to see what post-grad life is really like.

I graduated in May 2018 with a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communications. I moved back to my hometown of Plant City! I am currently working as a writer for Focus Magazine Plant City, we are a small feel-good magazine that covers Plant City events, business and residents. I am also a contributor to the blog, Sincerely Plant City. Each week, I photograph Plant City landmarks and share these images on social media, sharing a bit of history of our town for our followers. I also write weekly blog posts featuring small business owners sharing their stories of success. It’s helped me not only feel reconnected to the place I call home, but I feel like I am making a difference in my community. Her Campus USF gave me the experience I needed for writing, editing, content creation and team building to find jobs after graduation! I am forever grateful for the sisterhood at Her Campus USF for giving me the tools I needed to succeed.

I graduated from USF in December 2017 with a major in PR and a minor in English. In January, I moved to New York City, where I recently started at the Ian Schrager Company–a hotel design company–in an admin role. Her Campus USF was one of the most rewarding experiences I had while I was in college. Even though my title was Editor-in-Chief, I did graphic design, planned events, and wrote articles. I was able to be creative and learn so much from my writers.

I graduated from the University of South Florida in December 2017 with a major in Mass Communications concentrated in News/Editorial Journalism and a minor in Psychology. In January 2018, I began working as the Marketing and Business Development Coordinator for EMC Engineering Services, Inc. in Savannah, GA. As Business Development Coordinator, I manage the firm’s social media accounts, travel to attend meetings with potential clients and draft proposals in an attempt to win the firm new work. This year I have been charged with a number of transitions for the firm including their rebranding and the development of a new website to celebrate its 40th anniversary, a project which will culminate in a black-tie gala later this year. Her Campus USF was highly influential in my transition through college and into the professional world. I served as Campus Correspondent for Her Campus USF from Dec. 2016 through Jan. 2018 and during that time I gained experience with leading a diverse group of brilliant individuals, meeting strict deadlines to grow an organization and navigating unanticipated scandals. I will always credit my time with Her Campus USF as a time of immeasurable growth in my personal and professional self.

After recently graduating from USF I been doing freelance work for the Tampa Bay Newspapers. I graduated from the University of South Florida in May 2018. I majored in Mass Communications with a concentration in magazine journalism. During my time at school I was a writer for Her Campus. Her Campus really helped my writing skills and thought me what it was like to work for an online magazine. Writing for Her Campus is one of my favorite times at USF and loved working with all the girls.
