Go Green and Give Back with This Trendy Jewelry Brand

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at USF chapter.

Alex and Ani have been popular for some time now and working at the local Tampa store has caused me to fall more in love with the company. The Rhode Island based company started out with products in small boutiques and has now expanded to having individual stores all around the country. When shopping for bracelets, necklaces, etc., I always found myself being attracted towards the symbols in which I relate to, or ones that are meaningful to me, but I did not know there was more too it. What a lot of people are unaware of about Alex and Ani is that the company is not only meaningful and infused with positivity, but it is eco-conscious and humanitarian.

When most people think of Alex and Ani, they think of their most popular type of jewelry, the bangle. These bracelets are made from a recycled copper blend. As an Alex and Ani associate, I often notice that customers are surprised when I inform them that some of the jewelry is created out of a recycled metal. They are all coated in a silver, gold, or as of recently, a rose gold finish that hides the reclaimed metal. For twenty-eight to thirty-eight dollars per bracelet, consumers can help keep the Earth green.

On top of being eco-friendly, the company has donated over fifty million dollars in the past six years. The Charity By Design collection of bangles is associated with over fifty different charities, and when one of those bracelets is purchased, twenty percent of the price goes back to the affiliated charity. Each charity piece comes with a meaning card, that informs buyers of the meaning behind the symbol, as well as the charity it donates, too.
