It is almost the middle of October and if you have ever watched Parks and Recreation then you will know why I am excited. For those of you who have not watched one of the best shows of our time, seriously, what are you doing, you may or may not know that October 13th is the best day of the year: Treat Yo Self day.

Since I am a college student, I do not go as all out as Donna Meagle and Tom Haverford do on the show. I do not really have the funds to bedazzle my elbows, but I do try to celebrate this wonderful holiday by getting myself something that I tend not to consider necessary. In case you need some, I will discuss a few basic suggestions to get your mind rolling on what you might want!

I do not know about you, but I am kind of obsessed with Lush Cosmetics. I would usually buy stuff from them, but not always in the quantity that I might in order to treat myself. They have all kinds of things you can use to de-stress and relax. Even though I do not have a bath in my dorm, I like to stock up on things like bubble bars and bath bombs for when I do go home. My favorites are Avobath and Brightside, and they both have a nice citrusy smell to ease you into waking up. To top it off, the Mask of Magnaminty is a really refreshing treatment and gives you that nice Shrek look.

Jewelry:

Maybe you have been keeping your eye on a piece of jewelry for a while. Well, today is your day to get it! Or maybe you are like me and you love “Harry Potter” (I don’t know who does not, but I digress). If you do, then you might check out their collection with Alex and Ani. I have a couple of the bracelets and I love being able to show off my love for the series in a subtle, but cute way. Plus, their jewelry is fairly inexpensive for the quality, so it will not break the bank.

Makeup:

I stopped spending as much money on makeup as I used to, but I would make an exception for something I find super stunning. Typically, I end up splurging on things like eyeshadow palettes, which tend to be worth the high price tag. One of my favorites that I got recently is the Norvina palette from Anastasia Beverly Hills. It has beautiful purples and pinks in it, along with some neutrals, so you can create the perfect eye look every time.

Cute Stationery:

This is a somewhat niche interest, but I feel like everybody could benefit from owning a cute planner to organize their thoughts. I have always enjoyed buying new notebooks, even though I like to hoard them and never use up any of them, but they are good to have and look nice on a bookshelf or coffee table. Another plus is that this option would almost always end up being cheap, unless you end up buying too much.

Maybe this gave you some ideas on where to go on October 13th, and if it did I have one thing left to say: Treat yo self!
