FASHION FRIDAY: Tips for Exam Week Fashion

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at USF chapter.

Be comfortable –
When it comes to exams, comfort is key. It’s okay to pull out the yoga pants, because they’re probably the most stylish pair of comfortable pants. Everyone will be too stressed about their exams to notice that you’re dressed less than chic. It’s also important to make sure you wear an outfit that you won’t have to constantly adjust. You want your focus to be on your exam and being uncomfortable can really distract you. Save the tight shirts and mini-skirts for celebrating after exams.

Pass on the Pajamas –
Let’s not take being comfortable too seriously, so seriously that’ll you’ll just want to sleep. By changing out of pajamas and putting on a normal outfit you will be in a better mind set for the day and think less about wanting to go back to bed. Even though it may seem convenient to get every last minute of sleep, your preparation for the day will really help you wake up. If you want to minimize your time getting ready you can plan your outfits ahead the night before and keep the makeup to the basics. Feeling refreshed for an early morning exam is the best way to feel focused during an exam.

Don’t be noisy –
Please, for the sake of everyone trying to focus – do not be that girl that jingles every time she moves. Wearing noisy jewelry may not be distracting to you, but it can be very distracting to others. You may also want to steer clear of noisy shoes to avoid angry stares as you walk to the front of the room to turn in your exam or ask a question. If you know the outfit you are wearing with cause you to fidget constantly, you may want to consider a new one to avoid the awkward feeling of making noise in a silent room.

Prepare for the temperature –
The weather is finally warming up so you may be tempted to wear shorts but be aware of how cold the room may be. If you know the exam room is notorious for being freezing then you may  want to opt for pants and bring a jacket just in case. There’s also a possibility the air conditioning may not be working so take that into consideration when deciding what to wear.

The bag –
If you only have one exam rather than lugging your backpack around just bring a smaller bag that fits all of your needs such as your ID, pencils, study guide, any last assignments you may have to turn in. Having bulky items like a backpack can get in the way of other students, and distract you from your exam when you have to move it around for people. Get a head start on summer by getting a cute small purse that holds all the necessities without the extra baggage.
