Leggings are one of the easiest outfits to style. So let’s do this, collegiettes™!
Before you even think about buying some leggings for a comfortable chill day for class, remember this number one rule: make sure they aren’t see-through! Your leggings will no longer be fashionable and just fail if they are see-through in the butt area. Be sure to get leggings that are thick or just buy one size bigger than you normally would. No matter what, double check your backside before you leave for the day.
Okay, now that the number one issue of leggings is out of the way, time to have some fun with Her Campus! Leggings come in a variety of colors and patterns so it will always be an adventure when shopping. If you get floral leggings like pictured above, you can match your top with the various colors in the leggings. If you get cheetah print, colors such as red, burgundy, royal blue, or yellow are a great contrast to this pretty pattern. If you opt for solid, the possibilities are endless for cute tops to wear. Solid black leggings look best with an oversized plain or graphic sweater. Personally, I think baggy tops look best with tight leggings. Tight tops and tight leggings together just won’t look right. Unless you’re headed to the gym to work-out in some sporty leggings, don’t go tight on top and bottom.
As for accessories, select simple pieces for a casual outfit to class. Stud earrings, a long necklace with small pedant, rings, and a wristwatch are your best bet with your leggings outfit. Make sure you don’t overdo it. Adding an infinity scarf is a good idea too since it has been cold lately. To finish your look, wear a pair of ankle booties, riding boots, or converses with your leggings. Just like any top will work, so will most shoes. Even though we live in Florida, you should probably avoid rocking your favorite pair of flip-flops though.
When shopping for leggings, you can find them in just about any store. I usually get mine from Forever 21, Charlotte Russe, or Target. But they’re available in other stores too so shop around. Good luck ladies with this cute and comfortable leggings look! Check back here at Her Campus for other fashion tips!
