DIY coffee mugs are the perfect gift for someone in a long distance relationship, a friend, or family member and can be used for any occasion. These coffee mugs are extremely easy to make and will not break your bank account. I made my DIY coffee mugs for my boyfriend and they only cost me $2.14 and about 45 minutes of my time.

Materials:

  • Permanent Marker/Paint Pen

  • Coffee Mug

  • Oven

  • Cute Design

I already had a permanent marker so all I needed to buy was my coffee mugs. I made two, and purchased them at the Dollar Store for $1.07 a piece.

Steps:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

  2. Clean coffee mug with soap and water, make sure it is thoroughly dry.

  3. Decorate coffee mug with sharpie or paint pen.

  4. Bake coffee mug for 30 minutes.

  5. Make sure the decoration is completely dry.

  6. Turn off the oven.

  7. Let Coffee Mug dry for about 10 minutes.

As long as the mug you are using is dishwasher safe then feel free to clean the mug in the dishwasher, but I would suggest gently hand washing the mug with soap and water to make sure your decoration does not fade away.

Here is an example of my DIY Coffee Mugs.

Happy Crafting!
