Looking for tips on safety?

On campus there are a lot of people using dating apps like Tinder and Bumble. There are plenty of fish in the sea, and this might be your first time meeting up with them. As great as it can be, it’s also very scary because it’s the first time you are meeting up with that person. Some safety tips to keep in mind: always inform a friend or a family member where you are going, who you’re going with and times expected to be in those locations.

This is especially important because if anything is to happen, your trusted person has enough information to help find you. For those of you with an iPhone, make sure you are temporarily sharing your location with a friend.

While having a good time don’t over drink, and if you do happen to overdrink, take an Uber home. Do not get behind the wheel drunk, you will end up in jail with a felony DUI or DWI. If the person you are on a date with gives off any red flags, make sure to leave.

Your safety is top priority, if the person is suspicious, make sure to report them on the app. They take things like this very seriously. While keeping these things in mind, have fun and enjoy your date!
