Campus Cutie: Caroline Jackson

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at USF chapter.
Age: 19

Class Standing: First Year

Major (include double majors, minors, concentrations): Women’s and Gender Studies! (Great major by the way, but I’m a little biased)

Campus Involvements: NITE Member, Triota: Women’s and Gender Studies Honor Society Member, New Initiate Member of Phi Sigma Pi which is am amazing co-ed honors service fraternity, and I will be going on the LGBTQ Issues Bulls Service Break Trip this spring break!

Proudest Accomplishment: Getting through my first semester of college with good grades, some wonderful friendships and a sense of stability despite some hardships.

Taken/Single: Taken by a wonderful man named Austin who I met through one of the people who lives on my floor!

Favorite Class Taken at USF: I have loved all of my WGS courses but two of the ones I recommend most is Intro to Women’s Studies, shout out to Dr Turner and Politics of Women’s Health, shout out to Dr Rubin!

What would you tell a younger Caroline if you could? I would tell her to always remember that no matter what, you will persevere and to remain honest with the people you call your friends because they will always be there to support you.

Role Model(s)? Deray Mckesson, Amy Poehler, and Carrie Brownstein

Fun fact: At this year’s Next Big Thing I got to meet Walk the Moon which was such a surprise, they are so humble and such an amazing band to see live!

Career Goals: I would love to become a professor of Women’s and Gender Studies and be able to teach the kind of material that I am so passionate about!

Favorite Music/Movie/Tv/Book/etc: I love twenty one pilots, J Cole, Panic! At The Disco, my favorite movie right now is Deadpool, my favorite TV show is Twin Peaks (check it out, its on Netflix!) and my favorite book is A Thousand Splendid Suns

Any pets?: I currently have back home in Ocala an adorable little pup named Allie!

Anything else you’d like to tell us about yourself? That I think one of the most important things about college is to find your passions, it makes everything else a little bit easier knowing that you have passion driving you forward!
