4 Nail Designs That Will Make Your Valentine’s Day Manicure Stand Out

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at USF chapter.

Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, and whether it means spoiling your boo or sipping rosé with your gals celebrating Galantine’s Day, best believe love is going to be in the air. The color red will also be everywhere, especially in Target, Walmart and other stores.

Another way to incorporate red, other than in your outfits and home decor, is with your nails. A good manicure can make you feel like you can conquer anything. Below you will find my favorite ways to make your Valentine’s Day manicure unique.

Ask for a neutral polish with red accent nails.

For those who prefer more classy nude nails, you can mix things up by incorporating only one or two red nails in your nude manicure. Adding rhinestones and crystals can add a little sparkle to further accent your manicure without it being too much.

Incorporate tiny hearts.

Here we have the classic red hearts with a little bit of shine against a neutral polish. This design in particular is simple and minimal, but still goes with the theme of Valentine’s Day.

Ditch your simple French manicure and opt for hearts as tips.

Making the edges look like actual hearts is a really cute way to incorporate hearts without it being too childish. The placement of the hearts also makes the design unique. Who would even think to do this? It’s a grown-up version of heart scribbles, if you will.

Choose a glossy black polish and add red accents.

This is for people who don’t want red and want the exact opposite. A full black nail set with hints of red can be a good way to take part in the whole Valentine-themed appearances, but not completely immerse yourself in it.

Valentine’s Day is a day to celebrate love, and red is a symbolism for that. Nail art can be a fun way to dress up your outfits and add that little something that your look is missing. You can go crazy with it or play it down, but either way, have fun with it!
